Debra Haller’s massage treatments last long after the final sweep of the hand. A licensed massage therapist and massage instructor with a background in the chiropractic field, Debra concludes her massages by offering stretches, exercises, and self-massage techniques that clients can benefit from long after they’ve left her office. Of course, the main attraction occurs on the table—Debra performs Swedish, hot-stone, and deep-tissue massages with studied hands and laser-like focus. A believer in the mind-body-spirit connection, she aims to facilitate wellness, pain relief, and relaxation during every treatment. To further help her clients find tranquility, she offers prenatal massages and uplifting foot treatments that include salt scrubs and reflexology.
Before she became the owner and operator of San Diego CranioSacral Therapy, Jessica Koliscz studied as a holistic health practitioner. This opened her eyes to a wide range of Eastern therapies, and she became particularly interested in the energy-based techniques of kinesiology and Japanese reiki. Following this interest to a number of related modalities, Koliscz eventually received her certification in craniosacral therapy, a treatment that uses light touch to heal a diverse array of ailments that includes fibromyalgia, arthritis, and chronic headaches. Though she considers craniosacral therapy her specialty, Koliscz has by no means neglected traditional Western modalities. She is also an expert in Swedish massage, prenatal treatments, and aromatherapy, the last of which augments the therapist?s strokes with the soothing scents of flowers and fried teddy bears.
Inside of April's Massage Sanctuary, holistic health practitioner April showers her clients with her healing touch through various massages and facial treatments. In her decade-plus of experience, April has developed a technique that is wholly her own—much like Picasso and his style of painting or a singer who sings through his ears. During her massages, she uses a strong touch that is simultaneously nurturing and therapeutic. Her eclectic modality toolkit often includes a mix of deep tissue, Chinese acupressure, and circulatory massage techniques. For those that want their skin to look as fresh as they feel after a massage, April also offers 30- and 60-minute rejuvenating facials that make use of housemade products infused with natural ingredients and organic oils.

When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
I have been surrounded by medicine my whole life as it runs in my family. After experiencing chiropractic care at the University of Illinois and its effectiveness in treating injuries I knew this was what I was meant to do. Through the years I have worked with the NFL, MLB, and NBA getting their athletes back to performing at their maximal level.
The interior of a business can affect how its customers feel. What kind of decor do you use to help make your clients feel pampered and at ease?
The interior of the business has a strong community feel and is decorated with awards and jerseys from some of our local athletes. We also support many of our local businesses and charities, and the rear of the office contains an outdoor workout facility.
Out of your entire repertoire, which is your favorite service to perform and why?
My favorite service to perform is the overall functional evaluation of the patient. We assess areas of deficiencies. Through adjustments, laser, and exercise we are able to change patient's lives by getting them back to doing the things that they love.
