FastFrame outlines photographs and wall-worthy art with more than 1,000 frames in styles ranging from baroque gold trims to funky, contemporary schemes. Dedicated to craftsmanship and creativity, professional framers help select matting hues to complement a diploma or the original Bill of Rights banning knuckle cracking. All projects are completed onsite, ensuring that no materials get dented or lost by clumsy carrier pigeons, and clients can return any custom designs for complete retooling within 30 days if they don't match homes' décor.
FrameStore's craftsmen have created more than 250,000 custom frames in the store’s 35-year tenure, designing pieces that now adorn the walls of prestigious institutions such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Ritz-Carlton, and the Walt Disney Company. Professional designers guide FrameStore’s clients through the 2,200 moulding options that can accent paintings and treasured items while adding style and elegance to rooms. The store’s craftsmen then fashion pieces to patron specifications, outfitting frames with classic or museum-quality glass that blocks UV rays from bleaching out images or censoring pictures of the moon. Every piece goes through a 16-point inspection before it is given to patrons, and the team averages a seven-day turnaround on all of its projects.
Bernard's Wine Gallery, a wine store with thousands of old and rare fine wines for sale, welcomes both wine neophytes and grizzled oenophiles to sip from its fine vat of liquefied vinefruits. Bernard Rosenson, who owns Bernard's Wine Gallery with his wife Cynthia, also owns Coquelicot Estate Vineyard, the organically farmed vineyard featured in this tasting. Six Coquelicot wines preside in the elegant tasting room, including the 2006 Bordeaux Blend, which won a gold medal at the 2010 San Francisco Chronicle wine competition for its dark, complex taste. Guests will swirl and sip in luxury, blissfully whisking away memories of Twilight Zone episodes where clubs of giant wine bottles attended a human tasting. Tastings run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Like many artists, Dyanne Williams experimented with a variety of mediums before sticking with the one that suited and intrigued her the most: mosaics. At her Beverly Hills studio, she not only constructs works for her own oeuvre, but also leads small, intimate classes of no more than six students. Each pupil is invited to choose a project and work at the pace they're most comfortable with—which makes her courses suitable to all experience levels, including advanced artists and anyone who thinks a mosaic is the French word for "music."
Galerie Michael is a unique fine art gallery located on the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills for over thirty years. The gallery’s model is built on posterity rather than prosperity, which means a long term view on working with collectors in “building museum quality collections, one work at a time”.
The Vault houses a rich collection of classic photographs from Hollywood, music, and sports history. Neil Leifer's photo of Muhammad Ali's KO victory over Sonny Liston appears beside Frank Worth's glamour shots of Marilyn Monroe, printed on archival paper handmade from Frank Sinatra's pocket lint. The Vault shares its collection with the public through periodic gallery exhibitions.
