Swedish Massage in The Haight

Select Local Merchants

Located in the heart of the Haight Ashbury District, this one man massage studio excels at deep tissue massage to relieve sports injuries and deep knots that more traditional massages don’t touch. The multi-talented masseur is Paris, who offers a massage experience that may be a little different than anything you’ve experienced before. Referred to as a passive workout, this massage requires plenty of pressure and moments of discomfort to ultimately relieve your tension and get you back on your feet quickly--you can trust his expertise to relieve those lasting aches and pains.

Q&A with Patrick Spaulding, Massage Therapist

People go to spas to forget about the outside world. How does your decor help create an atmosphere where visitors can unwind?

My home office is a warm and cozy massage studio that's inviting and nurturing. The room has a fireplace and the table is heated, with diffused sunlight filtering through the window shades and relaxing music filling the air.

What's the most common beauty mistake you see people make? What would you recommend they do instead?

Worrying more about how one looks then how one feels. If you and your body and spirit are in union, feeling optimal health, you will glow and exude your radiance and vibrance.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?

Bodywork is integral to a holistic approach to maintaining health and wellness. I strive to listen and learn from my clients, and to tailor each session to their needs and desires.
