An official partner of Texas State Athletics, Bobcat Nation Sports Bar & Grill supports the maroon and gold with memorabilia that spans the school's 115-year history. Beneath displays of autographed helmets and game jerseys, people nosh on burgers, wings, fried seafood baskets, and regional hot dogs?including The San Marcos with chili, queso, onion, and jalapenos?while watching the game on 1 of 25 flat-screen TVs.
On the outdoor smoking patio, you can take a seat and sip on craft beers from Goose Island and New Belgium. If you're having a watch party at home, Bobcat Nation can cater your event or at least text you and tell you they miss you.

What is one of your most popular offerings? How is it prepared?
Grins offers a Shiner Bock beer-battered chicken-fried steak. It is hand breaded in our special beer batter and then deep fried to golden perfection. Grins then smothers the chicken fried steak in our homemade country gravy.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Since 1975 students and families have been discovering that Grins offers something for everyone. Even if you?re just grabbing a quick lunch, the unique tree-house atmosphere and rambling rooms retains the cozy atmosphere of the original house on which the restaurant is based.
In your own words, how would you describe your menu?
I would describe Grins food as Southern, home-style cooking. Most of the menu is made from scratch, including all of our desserts.
Bill, Michael, and Brendan are Third Base's founders, but they're regulars at their three sports bars, too. You'll often find them snacking on spicy ranch wings, kicking back with beers on the patio, or cheering at the house TVs. And, perhaps because the three are customers themselves, they go above and beyond to make their customers happy. They post an online schedule of the games they'll show on TV, for instance, so fans of Scandinavian folk wrestling never get their hopes up too high. They also host special events, like crawfish boils with mimosas by the carafe. Cuisine such as green chili cheeseburgers, stuffed tots, and fish tacos can be paired with daily drink specials, and carryout is offered for those who are stuck babysitting the house plant.
While the heart of Johnny Carino's menu is rooted in genuine Italian traditions, forward-thinking creativity has birthed what they like to call their signature dishes. Led by executive chef Chris Peitersen, the seasoned kitchen staff blends fresh ingredients along with extra time to create high-quality, spiced Italian preparations. Diners will find entrees such as 16-layer lasagna with made-from-scratch sauce, and pizzas made with home-baked crust. Other signature choices include the spicy shrimp and chicken, baked stuffed mushrooms topped with house lemon basil cream sauce, and tiramisu made from the ground up. Entrees can be paired any selection from Carino's extensive wine list and drink menu.
Coastal seafood meets traditional Mexican recipes and American favorites at Tres Hermanas Restaurant & Cantina. Diners take their pick of a wide range of spice-laden dishes, from beef tips cooked in Mexican stew to pork fajita enchiladas in a choice of sauce. Steak takes a few forms at Tres Hermanas?new york strip and rib eye come paired with jumbo shrimp, and grilled salmon and tuna steaks arrive to tables with grilled veggies on the side. Enchilada platters make a name for themselves here, with offerings like beef fajita and seasoned shrimp, as well as house specials such as chile relleno and southwestern chicken lettuce wraps. The home cooking also extends to seven burgers, including fish and chicken options, which diners can enjoy inside near the full bar or atop an expansive outdoor patio.
