Suntrenz spans two floors, both of which are dedicated to making clients look their best by imparting them with a healthy-looking glow. The treatment experts at Radiance personalize each of their skincare indulgences in a serene retreat. Cleanse and purify overstressed pores with your choice of soothing facials customized with anti-wrinkle additions, visage-loving vitamins, and glow-goading oxygen. A quick pick me up recharges your radiance in record time so that the time-crunched can get back to their dust cloud of fighting cartoon characters ($70). A just for men facial is specifically designed to clear the boyish barnacles off dudely dermises ($85), and the deep cleansing back facial heals back blemishes and anterior acne ($80). Those with more mature masks may opt for the microdermabrasion treatment, which uses pharmaceutical-grade diamond chips to gently sandblast away fine lines and blemishes and erase the signs of aging. Both opulent options include a complimentary paraffin hand wax treatment to soften skin and relax overly thumb-wrestled digits.
When the sky is cloudy or filled with locusts, clients duck into Electric Beach to bronze their bodies with the glowing bulbs of Dr. Mueller beds. The beds come in high-, medium-, and low-pressure models, and their strengths range from less than 1% emitted UVB rays to 5% emitted UVB rays. Alternatively, the Magic Tan booth uses 37 spray nozzles to mist the body with an even coat of color in less than a minute.
The wattage on Tan Line Salon’s beds goes up to 20,000. Its five levels of beds begin at Level 1, which offers 20- and 10-minute tans. From there, the beds progress to include more than 10 units including Level 3 and 4 Ergoline Avant Garde beds and a Level 5 Omega high-pressure bed. They also offer sunless airbrush tans and facilitate bronze boosts with myriad products, such as accelerators and bronzers from brands such as Supre and Designer Skin.
Eliana and Viviane Jardim grew up on the beaches of Brazil, and when they moved to the United States, they brought a little bit of the Brazilian sun with them. The business they opened, Samba Glow, specializes in personalized airbrush spray tans. Armed with a spray applicator, technicians apply either a clear solution that develops over the course of 8–10 hours or a bronzer that’s visible right away. The DHA-based formula for each is free of harsh chemicals, preservatives, white tempera paint, and artificial fragrances, leaving room for certified-organic aloe-vera extracts, vitamin A, vitamin E, and various antioxidants that help leave skin firm and smooth. At their new Menlo Park location, the Jardim sisters decided to branch out into other beautification services—such as waxing and a full lash and brow bar—as well as retail, selling bathing suits and resort-wear designed to show off the tanning techs’ handiwork.
Ingrid's hosts a bevy of beautifying beds suited for all skin-suit needs.
