Willowick Golf Course is known as the oldest 18-hole public golf course in Orange County. Competitive clubbers can try to knock the Willowick's 71 par from its looming overhead presence while aspiring artists use tiny pencils to sketch the weeping willows and quaint architecture in the periphery. Soar down the fairway with clubs extended in hopes that one of Willowick's sleek buggies will catch flight and ensure victory by knocking opposing orbs off-course.

High-quality facilities and instruction are important in a fencing school, but so is having a strong sense of community. South Coast has all those things under one roof, with instructors that are equally comfortable teaching competitive athletes or casual enthusiasts. They even offer group lessons for every skill level, including children as young as 7. Introductory-level classes focus on footwork, handwork, and distance control while also introducing students to the sport's rules and traditions. More experienced students can attend classes that cover techniques and strategic thinking for competition. There are also private lessons and extra perks: members also get access to the center's weight room, study lounge, and practice areas.

The Waterman's Depot is owned and operated by people who not only love the water, but have also spent plenty of time on and in it. Racks of recreational and fishing kayaks stand side-by-side with state-of-the-art stand-up paddleboards. When staff members aren't helping customers around the shop, they launch guided kayak trips and give product demonstrations. The expansive store contains aquatic sporting gear and apparel from more than 50 brands, including Oakley, Reef, and Sanuk. Available scuba gear ranges from basic fins and snorkels to more advanced gauges and computers that can tell you the number of old soggy boots buried in any fishing lake.

More than a thousand years have passed since healers learned that illnesses could be cured through stimulation of certain body parts. A wide array of frameworks developed for how best that healing should be brought about. Licensed acupuncturist Winston Wang has taken components of these frameworks to craft his own: understand the patient's condition, set up a treatment plan, and test it. At Orange Acupuncture, clients can seek Winston's techniques to treat maladies ranging from depression and insomnia to seasonal allergies.
