Aradia Fitness founders Christine Boyer and Tracy Gray used to cart a portable pole to different gyms in Tracy's Dodge Neon. Though acquaintances scoffed at their idea of teaching pole dance to inspire confidence and build muscle, the duo was determined to make the art available to everyday women. Thankfully, they had the business expertise and exercise know-how to back up their venture: Christina, a Pilates and yoga instructor, stood by pole fitness as a full-body conditioning method, and Tracy's experience as a figure skater and fitness instructor brought pizzazz to the routines. The pair's classes quickly sold out wherever that Dodge Neon went.
They've come a long way since then, having been featured in Canadian Business and Elle for their growing pole-fitness franchise. At Aradia Fitness studios throughout North America, guests of all backgrounds can practice the empowering pole spins, cardio dance steps, and stiletto heel swordplay of Christine and Tracy's curriculum. Every class and private party strives to connect pupils with their sensual side, bringing self-esteem and sinuous moves to spotlight.
With more than 30 years of kid-entertaining experience, The Little Gym provides a safe and noncompetitive environment wherein wee ones can exercise their brains and bodies. Maturing moppets aged 4 months to 3 years glean social and cognitive skills from a parent-child program that helps developing minds learn colors and numbers and helps parents learn to take turns and share. Gymnastics allows energized preschoolers to tumble at their own pace and caters to differing ages, levels of muscle development, and hatred of vegetables. Grade-school gymnasts tackle the mat, bar, vault, and beam in classes set to their ability, not age. Dance and cheerleading classes allow the rhythmically inclined to shake and sway and the vocally enthused to yell things other than other people's Social Security numbers.

My Gym, which currently has more than 200 international locations, began more than 20 years ago as a structured place for children to safely play, acquire new skills, and romp off a sugar buzz. All classes are organized according to age level—starting as young as 6 months—and designed to incorporate the latest physiological and psychological research. Tiny Tykes gets babies moving with help from their parents, Mighty Mites teaches toddlers self-reliance and beginning sports skills, and Champions, a class for kids aged 6 to 9, emphasizes the importance of using teamwork to master more complex sports skills and achieve group goals such as building a human pyramid to reach the cookie jar. My Gym's energetic instructors are experts at using music, dance, and gymnastics to build youngsters' strength and self-esteem while stimulating their giggle-plexes. The noncompetitive environment fosters creativity, and hands-on activities boost children's learning retention and fun quotient. My Gym also welcomes parents to come, relax and have fun, keeping a kids-music-free atmosphere.
In 1976, Joan Barnes—a Californian mom frustrated with the lack of spaces where she could take her kids for safe and age-appropriate play time—took matters into her own hands and founded Gymboree Play & Music. In the decades since Gymboree’s founding, Joan’s vision of a safe place where youngsters could build confidence and creativity has come to fruition and spread to 30 countries around the globe. Staffed by attentive and expertly trained instructors, each Gymboree outpost adheres to a curriculum of activities designed by experts to foster the development of children’s’ cognitive, physical, and social skills through structured play and close readings of Goodnight Moon. The staffers also conduct entertaining classes that cover subjects ranging from music to sports, imparting valuable lessons of imagination and physical activity to developing minds. To further set apart her business, Barnes employed nationally renowned playground designer Jay Beck to design the proprietary play equipment at her centers.
