  • Cirque Style Fitness
Cirque Style Fitness’ founders, Ivo Gueorguiev, a former Cirque du Soleil acrobat and director, and Jill Hansen, an aerial performer and Pilates instructor, draw from a combined 60 years of experience in leading aerial workouts. They lead students of all fitness levels—no previous gymnastics or dance experience required—through their high-flying routines. Students ascend toward the ceiling, winding a bolt of silky fabric around their arms and calves, using techniques from gymnastics, Pilates, and how to crochet in midair. Instructors also delve into ballet techniques and on-the-ground circus routines to help pupils to improve their coordination, strength, and alignment.

  • IRON Gym
Iron Fitness's name and garage-like exterior might suggest that it holds a cavernous space full of musclemen and barbells. Instead, step through the doors and you'll find an intimate, boutique workout experience marked by 9,000 square feet of fitness machines and three studios with distinct identities. Iron x PT specializes in personal training. During one-on-one fitness sessions, upbeat but tough-minded trainers analyze what clients need to do to reach their fitness goals, then motivate them to do it. Momentum, on the other hand, is all about the power of group fitness. Its instructors don't just follow workout trends—often, they set them, pioneering styles such as the hip-hop-based Groov3 and Pound, which celebrates percussive rhythms and prepares students for marathon meat-tenderizing sessions. Finally, the Elite studio connects gloved fists and with punching bags in a ring run by pro-level boxing instructors.

What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? We offer dance instruction and performance opportunities for all levels in the styles of Burlesque and Ladies Salsa Styling. What makes us stand apart from the competition is that we provide dancers who have never trained or performed as well as more experienced dancers with the opportunity to be part of a performance company, work with professionals, travel, make friends, gain confidence, get fit, and be part of a truly unique experience! What?s one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans? Just have fun! Everybody learns at their own pace, and we strive to make each class a really fun environment where everyone supports each other's progress. The levels are broken down so that each person gets a little bit of a challenge, but is not overwhelmed. What was the inspiration to start or run this business? Dancing and performing changed my life. I was very shy growing up, and it was dance that broke me out of my shell and made me a more confident, self-assured person? and it also keeps me in great shape. I would see so many women on the dance floor who were too afraid to dance, or didn't know how to move their bodies or be sexy, who would see me perform and wanted to be able to dance like me, but didn't believe they would ever be able to. I wanted to teach them that they can, and to help them experience the same triumphs I have through dance. What do you love most about your job? I love seeing the transformations in my students. Not only physically, but also how they carry themselves and associate with other people. I've had students that were so shy that they stayed in the back of the class and only spoke in almost a whisper become an outgoing dancing and performing diva. This happens time and time again and I never get tired of it.

Classical dancer and choreographer Richard Giorla's had been working on stage and on screen for 30 years when he suffered a career-ending hip injury. He wanted to stay in shape despite his ailment, but few exercise programs offered the movements that dance once did. So he invented his own? Cardio Barre. It's composed of graceful ballet movements, such as pli?s and dances with Nutcrackers, but they've been adjusted to be easier on the body thanks to high-energy, zero-impact movements. The workout's continuous barrage of ballet, resistance, and light-weight exercises has caught on; there are now 16 Cardio Barre studios in total, each one dedicated to forging long, lean muscles, improving balance and coordination, and burning calories.
