At George Erb Fitness Center there are many ways to get in shape. Some patrons opt for group classes such as yoga, spinning, TRX, or Pilates. Others prefer private sessions with an NCSA-certified trainer or certified Pilates instructor who will tailor the routine to meet the client's fitness levels and needs. Still others work out solo on an array of Life Fitness equipment, including cardio stations outfitted with TV screens.
Mavericks Gym aims to be the one-stop-shop for all things fitness, and it accomplishes that goal by offering a variety of services. The expert trainers work one-on-one with guests on the professional gym equipment during personal-training sessions, and certified instructors lead groups of all fitness levels through intense exercise classes.
For more than three decades, locally owned Spectrum Athletic Clubs have aimed to create a resort-like experience for patrons with upscale perks and personalized care. After workouts, gym-goers can avail themselves of unlimited towel service and change in comfortable locker rooms. Other amenities include saunas, steam rooms, healthy cafes, specialized workout areas, and complimentary Internet access.
In addition, racquetball courts let athletes improve their game independently, and patrons can sweat solo on cardiovascular equipment with individual viewing screens. Group classes, more than 1,200 of which are held daily, include Zumba, Pilates, Body Combat, and CXWorx sessions and enable trainees to draw motivation from each other or from each exercise studio's complimentary tank of moxie. The Spectrum Kids Club gives kids a place to play while adults work out and hosts such events as pool parties and pizza parties throughout the year.
The classes at Agoura Fitness blur the line between dancing, exercising, and rehearsing jabs in the boxing ring. Instructors lead a wide variety of courses designed to burn calories, many of which are set to upbeat music. Zumba routines pull from Latin dance styles for a cardio workout, whereas TaeRobics sync martial arts drills with energizing beats. Yoga classes take a slower approach to wellness with balanced poses and stretches. Other classes on the curriculum include boot camp, interval training, boxing, and Extreme Cycling—a better way to make stationary biking fun than repeatedly asking "are we there yet?"
The gym is also stocked with free weights and cardio equipment, and visitors can take advantage of these with the help of a personal trainer, or during solo workouts as early as 4:30 a.m. on weekdays.

Indoor cycling takes center stage at this new fitness studio where classes are tailored to suit all ages and fitness levels. Spinning for 50-minutes, classes take place aboard Keiser M3 bikes, which can be adjusted to mimic flat roads and hills. This allows riders to get a full-body workout that is particularly effective at strengthening legs and midsections, with sessions set to upbeat music to keep the atmosphere fun.
While cycling is the obvious focus here, it's not the only thing CycleTRaX has to offer. TRX classes utilize a suspension strap system, which users use to move through a variety of exercises designed to increase mobility, boost flexibility, and tone limbs. For even better results, students can combine these exercises by incorporating kettle bell squats, performing arm movements with battle ropes, or by bench-pressing their instructors.
