Appreciation for craft beer, distillers, and the art of mixology draws likeminded imbibers to Taps & Tequila, the home of a dozen flavor-infused tequilas and more than 25 craft beers on draft. Inside the lavish bar area, brick archways and clusters of plush chairs compliment a lengthy, L-shaped bar, behind which sits shelf upon shelf of premium bottles. A spacious beer garden rests just outside, providing walk-up entry from Central Avenue to passersby and Tropicana Field crowds.
The warm aromas of chocolate orange and Creamsicle tisane emanate from above, rousing the senses of visitors as they climb the spiral steps from Franklin Shops into Tea & Wine Loft. Along with blooming teas, domestic and imported beers and wines wash down the loft's roster of edibles, which include quiches, tuna salad, and numerous vegetarian and gluten-free options. White couches line the walls, beckoning guests to plop down and enjoy their plates as they shed single tears over the beauty of the artwork adorning the space. Those with an adventurous streak can subject themselves to the elements in the outdoor seating area before visiting the loft's retail area to restock on loose-leaf teas and teapots.
A towering wine rack spans an entire wall and glimmers with more than 1,000 bottles. Across the room, a lineup of nitrogen-regulated Enomatic machines dispenses samples from 80 wines to be sipped, swirled, and theatrically spit while reclining on a leather sofa, or while sitting at the long wooden bar. Small, shareable plates populate Sarasota Vineyard's menu in the forms of cheeses, roasted olives, and prosciutto-wrapped figs, ideal for pairing with wines or barley pops from a list of 20 beers.
