Walk-ins are always welcome and classes are available for creators of all types at Art As You Like It. Whether visitors are looking to paint pottery, fuse glass, throw pottery on a wheel, or paint canvas, they enjoy access to Art As You Like It's fully outfitted studio and helpful instructors. Those friendly teachers also lead classes focusing on particular media. And Art As You Like It aims to enrich the community as well?the studio invites customers to paint clay dishes for Empty Bowls, a program dedicated to raising awareness of the homeless population.

Every year, 101 Market opens its fields to share fall fun with other area families. The centerpiece of the fall festival is the harvest corn maze, where this year's design pays homage to the Minnesota's hunting and fishing seasons. After navigating the twisting stalks visitors can explore other farm-themed attractions such as the animal train, corn cannon, cock-a-doodle-zoo, and new jumping pillow.

Families who want to bring the fall-themed fun home can browse 101 Market's wide selection of pumpkins and mums, along with cornstalks and straw bales for decorating yards and houses for the season. Kids and parents can also chomp down on locally grown apples, squash, and potatoes, along with other in-season produce.

For Andy and Rachel Lee of Art and Frame World, their framing projects don't end at two-dimensional objects. Photos surround a folded American flag to depict a beloved family member in his military years. A commemorative Minnesota Twins jersey hangs with sleeves folded to show off its decorative patches. A Stratocaster guitar, signed by Jon Bon Jovi and his band, floats on mounts next to a gold record and a ruby-encrusted 8-track tape. This attention to detail is also apparent in the business's traditional frame jobs, which ensconce photographs in intricate patterns. Conservation items such as acid-free matting and UV-protective glass ensure that prized artwork is kept safe from the elements.

Q&A with Shelley Miller, Artist/Instructor

I'm a first-timer. How do you get me ready for the experience?

There is no experience required. All the paintings are impressionist, so even being able to make a straight line is not necessary.

What is the experience customers can expect, and how do you make it special?

Everyone will paint the same picture, but none will end up exactly the same. Everyone will have their own twist on how they put paint to canvas.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?

This is a great way to share a date night, girls' night out, or bridal shower.

Have you ever been a patron of your own business? If so, what was the most enjoyable part?

The best part is looking at the other paintings and asking the painter how they got a flower to look just so, or how they made the water look like it's moving?the sharing of ideas and processes. Also, having a cocktail while painting lets the creative juices fly.

Many things in water are completely invisible: heavy metals, minerals, the ghosts of popped bubbles. The team at Water Doctors Water Treatment can test for those and other imperceptible contaminants. Then, technicians and engineers help get rid of them with water filtration system options. Depending on the client's needs, a reverse osmosis system or a large-tank water filtration system might be the best call.
