Allure Salon’s stylists beautify clients with the latest hair trends and styles inside the modern, loft-styled boutique, located close to Seattle’s Olympic Sculpture Park. The team plies its trade under exposed beams and cerulean accents, which add to a bright, open atmosphere not dissimilar to congressional hearings at the U.S. Capitol building before they added the dome. Allure’s stylists use top products such as Moroccanoil and Davines as they shampoo, repair, and style clients’ locks. Seattle Magazine highlighted Allure as one of the city’s salons to visit for feather extensions—a “hippie-chic twist on the clip-on extension”—and stylists remove the extensions at no charge.
What do you get when a chemistry major with an artistic streak and a restaurant manager team up? You get a salon that creates jaw-droppingly naturalistic hair colors and runs like clockwork. The brains behind the operation are Gary Howse and Manuel Benevich—the founders of Gary Manuel Studio. After joining forces in 1979, the duo quickly started racking up accolades from the likes of Allure, Vogue, Glamour, and Highlights. They’ve also established their own Aveda Institute, where they teach the art of environmentally-friendly hair care and cosmetology to fledgling stylists.
Mixtzin Beauty and Talent stylists invite men, women, and children into their styling chairs where they shower them with precision cuts and professional products by GK Hair Products. Working eyeball to eyeball with clients, the team evaluates facial shape and proportion before recommending bold new cuts, natural hair extensions, or color treatments. They also specialize in bridal updos and makeup.
Wildfang Hair Design’s meticulous stylists offer a variety of beautifying hair services. They gladly cut the hair of men, women, and children, and offer color treatments such as partial or full highlights. They also offer perms, hair relaxers, and facial waxing.
Stylist and Northwest native Lisa "Lala" Davies sculpts, colors, and conditions manes with a finesse she honed over the course of more than 10 years, 7 of which she spent manning her own salon in Monterey Bay, California. Today, Davies returns to her roots to flaunt her skills and command of local road maps within Sola Salon Studios, a full-service salon where a team of stylists and aestheticians can complement Davies's adeptly crafted hairdos.
Ti Hong, the owner head stylist of Salon de beauté, has worked in the beauty industry for more than 20 years. Formally trained at a French salon in Saigon, he later moved to Paris where he honed his craft in a boutique salon for several years. Today, at Salon de beauté, he draws upon his international training to lead a team of hairstylists, manicurists, and aestheticians who deliver everything from customized facials and microcurrent facelifts, to spiral perms and extensions made from human hair. To calm frizzy ‘dos exacerbated by humidity or a head-on collision with a Van de Graaff generator, the salon also offers keratin hair-smoothing and Japanese thermal straightening treatments, both of which smooth and soften hair for several months.
