Vision Quest Sport and Fitness promotes a five-pronged approach to fitness, covering cardiovascular, progressive resistance, proper diet, supplementation, and personal training. Like any decent clock factory, the clubs are open 24 hours a day, and each keeps its own schedule primed with group classes such as boxing, yoga, spinning, and hip-hop fitness. Body Sculpt sessions fashion forms with weights and bands, and Total Body Conditioning uses lighter weights and higher repetitions to create lean, mean muscle mass.
Members take part in complimentary wellness seminars from fitness experts to fine-tune their bodies, and teams of affiliated massage therapists, chiropractors, and nutrition gurus save skeletons and muscles from harmful injury.
Co-founded in 2001 by Louise Beckley, this Pilates studio focuses on teaching clients strength and structure through proper alignment. Through Pilates reformer instruction on specialized equipment, clients can improve core strength, gain strength through strategic stretches, improve muscle tone and posture and benefit from the meditative effects of focus and concentration required during one-hour workshops. One-on-one personal training is available, as are group workouts capped at four participants per class, so that instruction is personalized. Participants can expect to use inflatable balls, levers, pulleys and raised platforms in order to let gravity play a role in a Pilates workout at this facility.
At Pre-Dating's speed-dating events up to 24 mingle-ready singles and hopeless romantics converge for a gender-balanced evening of abbreviated rendezvous and private duologues. Focusing especially on the needs of busy professionals, Pre-Dating's events are always split evenly between men and women attendees, ensuring a balanced, one-to-one ratio for dates and spirited bouts of Red Rover. During the two-hour verbal waltz, daters chat with individual counterparts for six minutes at a time. Then, at the end of the event, guests complete and turn in a score sheet that divides potential suitors from the rest. After reviewing the score sheets, Pre-Dating will supply each attendee with the email addresses of matches who said "Yes," allowing pairs to fan the flames of love or a roaring dumpster fire during a follow-up date.
Taking dance lessons can be an exciting and wonderful adventure. We also know that it can be intimidating to make that first call or even get through the door of a dance studio. You will feel the difference when you walk in the door of Abayas' Ballroom. Enjoy the hospitality and warmth on your very first lesson.
While many people aspire to open their own small, creative business, implementing the dream can be daunting. The founders of School House Craft, as small-business owners themselves, understand this struggle. They developed the conference to arm attendees with business-running skills via a slew of workshops and classes led by owners of local crafty businesses such as Trophy Cupcakes and Schmancy, a toy store filled with quirky, plush playthings.
During their informative sessions, they impart techniques on blogging to reach more consumers, creating budgets, licensing designs, and taking clear, attractive pictures of products for the web, even when the baubles refuse to say “cheese.” They offer advice to entrepreneurs at all points in their business-making journeys. Guiding beginners, they help those who have just come up with an idea lay the foundations for their business, and guide those who have already started making strides—such as running an online shop, participating in craft shows, and selling their wares to shops and art galleries—to hone their brands and expand their production.
Musikgarten classes elevate kinesthetic, logical, spatial, and social intelligences through musical instruction to children ages 3 months to 10 years. Each course responds to the developmental needs of a particular age group, with activities and acquired skills becoming more complex as classes ascend in age group. Family Music for Babies (ages 3–16 months) engages an adult and infant with 30–35 minutes of bouncing songs, dancing, and playing simple instruments. Curiosity curdles in amateur earthling brains and a foundation for future musical exploration is set during the Cycle of Seasons course, where children 3-1/2 to 5 years of age flirt with the foundations of rhythm and tune, coddle concentration skills, and garner the ability to self-express through sound waves. The Young Musician and Piano class, for ages 4-1/2–6 and 7–10 respectively, focus on symbolic thinking, memory, and listening acuity, and run for 55–60 minutes or until the first prodigious rock opera has been composed.
