  • SideTour - Leisure
Sound Excursions describes their carefully curated group experiences as "field trips for adults." It's easy to see why: every outing takes groups to a new realm of Washington, whether it's the frothy shores of Puget Sound, inland forests and mountains, or tables at Seattle's thriving restaurants. The events held at these diverse locations range from culinary workshops on topics such as sushi-making and moonshine-tasting, to adventurous excursions with whitewater rafting or kayaking, to laid-back themed party cruises. • Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
Now in its 34th year, the Shore Run/Walk lets legs sprint or saunter to raise funds for immunotherapy research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Opt for a 5K race starting in Leschi Park or a 10K jaunt beginning in Ferdinand Park. During each event, runners move their bodies' natural stilts through a scenic course and soak up views of Lake Washington. Though not included in this Groupon, there's also a half-mile kids' run ($10 for registration) that allows little ones to exercise muscles for a length of time directly proportionate to their attention spans and shoe size. All races begin in the morning and conclude in Madison Park with snacks, music, prizes, and high-fiving of weary feet.

  • Bent Burgers
Bent Burger’s namesake burger is not for the faint of heart or stomach: chefs top a freshly ground beef patty with hot links, fried eggs, candied bacon, and cheese. Then, they wedge that already hulking load between two grilled cheese sandwiches. This creativity garnered acclaim from a reporter from Examiner.com, who called the eatery a “local treasure,” and the same creativity extends to the rest of the menu. The Human Torch burger sets tongues aflame with pepper jack cheese and grilled habanero peppers, and The Thing burger showcases the bold flavors of caramelized onions and blue cheese. These inventive mouthfuls buddy up with more than a dozen flavors of shakes and malts, including green tea, chai, and pumpkin. Bent Burger’s decor matches the playfulness of the cuisine: the tables are shellacked with comic book covers, and life-sized comic book heroes pop against a backdrop of burnt orange walls.

  • Seattle Design Solutions
Seattle Design Solutions' draperies, shades, and blinds define the mood of an interior space by modulating natural-light exposure and defending privacy. Make an appointment for a free in-home consultation, and interior designers will present eyes with 10 different varieties of window coverings, including full-coverage India Silk vignette roman shades by Hunter Douglas ($435) and translucent SheerWeave 5000 roller shades ($227) that let in sunlight but leave little of the outside landscape to the imagination, interfering with a resident's ability to pretend they're living on Mars. Create dramatic shadows with 2-inch slats of rustic Graber wood blinds ($140) or modern metal blinds ($97) to aid and abet fantasies of living in a 1930s noir film.
