Auto Tech Plaza's ASE–certified technicians undergo regular training by Bosch factory representatives to keep their skills sharp as they ply their trade on foreign and domestic vehicles at four area locations. They uphold their AAA–certified status by meticulously tweaking air conditioners, fixing electrical problems, and treating cars, RVs, and fleets to oil changes, tune-ups, and inspections. To ensure customer satisfaction, Auto Tech Plaza confidently backs the techs’ work with an in-house warranty that lasts up to three years, 36,000 miles, or one round-trip mission to Mars.
The highly-trained technicians at Jiffy Lube conduct signature service oil changes on vehicles as well as preventive maintenance and repair services. Their tire rotations, transmission services, and radiator inspections are performed with strict care and attention to detail, allowing cars to zoom out of the facility with the youthful exuberance they had back when they were little Hot Wheels.
When visitors step inside Thunder Alley Bowling Center, they only need to listen to know where the owners came up with the name. Bowling balls hurtle down 36 lanes and smatter pins, resulting in an uproar of cheering bowlers and a symphony of rented shoes shuffling across the slick floor. As points tally overhead on a series of screens, bowlers can root for their friends or refuel with burgers, salads, and wings at the Strike Zone Snack Bar. Elsewhere, a pro shop caters to athletes’ equipment needs, and on Fridays and Saturdays, blacklights transform the alley into a glow-in-the-dark wonderland for cosmic bowl. The lanes also come equipped with removable bumpers to accommodate younger bowlers and bowling balls with astigmatism.
Formula Drivetech fulfills childhood dreams of being a bona fide racecar driver by buckling grown-up gearheads into a variety of acceleratory vehicles for blistering journeys around the track. The Intro to Road Racing experience caters to those yearning for an asphalt-treading solo excursion, commencing with a firesuit and helmet fitting before ejecting revved up novices into the vehicular classroom for a 45-minute orientation. From there, lead-footed speedsters accompany their zen-like instructor on an SUV odyssey around the racetrack in order to experience the straightaways, bends, and metaphorical road forks firsthand before driving. Like the end of every teen movie, the grand finale grants each motorized student keys to the car kingdom, propelling them on a 15-minute, scorching orbit around the course in a Formula Ford with no one else in the vehicle except their grandmother's voice urging them to go faster.
DriveTech Racing School's side-by-side ride-along package provides an authentic stock car experience to anyone nursing fantasies of bumping fenders with NASCAR's elite drivers. After climbing into the passenger seat of a NASCAR Sprint Cup–style racecar, an Open-Wheel NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour car, or a race-proven ASA late model, one of the DriveTech instructors will motor you around Tucson Raceway Park's 3/8-mile semi-banked oval. The side-by-side ride gives rubber-burners a chance to race another car, which comes within two feet of your rocket-powered buggy as you maneuver around tight corners, the mechanical snarl of your car's V8 engine rattling your innards as the swift movement of its asphalt-gripping Goodyear racing slicks keeps you just barely moored to earth. Though the experience will jar loose any coagulated adrenaline in your body, DriveTech has taken every safety precaution, outfitting you with steel cages on the car, a driving suit, a Simpson helmet, and lava-resistant water wings.
The ride-along gives racecar fanatics and thrill-seeking maniacs the chance to feel the g-force of a Porsche Boxter, Chevy Corvette, or Formula car as it bursts from the starting line and rounds corners at ridiculous speeds. Formula Drivetech's experienced instructors will show you what one of these beautiful speed demons is really made of, or, if your hands are being drawn into the gravitational pull of the steering wheel, opt for the intro to racing class. Students will hop into a fire suit and helmet to arm their bodies against the inevitable onslaught of speed before the two-hour lesson begins. Learn the nuances of the raceway in a classroom setting and the put lessons to work while powering around the curves for 15 minutes of uninhibited lap time. Full lap schedule is available here.
