Cosmetologist Gina Jones is the owner of Gina's Hair Villa Salon, where she and her experienced manicurists offer nail and hair services. Using products from brands such as Paul Mitchell and Redken, Gina expertly matches hair colors to skin tones. Meanwhile, Shellac, gel, and odor-free acrylic nail polishes coat fingers and toes.
With more than 20 years of combined experience, the hair-loss experts at Acropolis Hair Studio have several ways of restoring thick, lustrous heads of hair. Handmade wigs crafted from human hair or high-quality synthetics wear easily on sensitive scalps to simulate flowing locks with less maintenance than wig-shop wigs, and laser therapy can tweak the skin in the scalp to revive it’s follicles. Experts tailor each treatment to the needs and desires of the client, offering a free consultation before administering any of their nonsurgical hair-restoration treatments.
The specialists at Alpha Omega Hair Design are well known for keeping abreast of the latest industry techniques through ongoing workshops and educational courses. While stylists busily clip hair, clients are led across the salon’s expansive floor to one of six private treatment rooms, where an aesthetician rejuvenates skin with exfoliating facials and chemical peels. During waxing sessions, an aesthetician swathes skin with warm wax before swiftly removing excess hair.
Do you offer your customers any extra perks?
We offer water, soda, coffee, and magazines for the clients' comfort.
What’s your favorite part about your job?
My favorite part of being a hairstylist is [creating] color and haircuts. I look at color as an art, and the person in my chair is like my canvas. I love to make each and every client that sits in my chair feel gorgeous, confident, and happy when they leave the salon. It is an extremely rewarding feeling to get to know each client and know when they leave that they are truly happy with the service and experience they received.
Out of your entire repertoire, which is your favorite service to perform and why?
Out of the entire repertoire, my absolute favorite service to perform is color. The reason I enjoy this more than any other service is because it brings out my creative side. Also seeing the difference a color can make on someone is an amazing experience. A client can come in and look really old and leave looking vibrant and youthful because they simply changed the color of their hair.

I [have] been doing hair for more than 15 years. I spent the past eight years as a color specialist and educator at the biggest salon in Knoxville. I spent years traveling and teaching everywhere from California to Texas as a full time educator for Wella-Sebastian, one of the number one hair color companies in the world.
What is one of your signature services? How is it performed?
I specialize in color, especially reds, blonds and color correction—changing from one color to a completely different color.
When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
I started cutting hair when I was 13 for friends and family. I fell in love with the craft and never stopped.
What steps do you take to make your clients feel at ease?
Seana's Sanctuary offers a private one-on-one atmosphere. I offer my expertise at examining a client’s skin tone and face shape to give suggestions for what will complement their features. I also offer complimentary wine, water, or soft drinks.
It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if a leather-clad rocker came unexpectedly bursting through the wall of Twisted Scissors Salon, shredding a face-melting guitar riff while tossing a lush head of hair in ecclesiastical abandon. Maybe it’s the edgy industrial artwork that hangs above red and black leather furnishings, or the multicolored mohawks seen on the creative stylists, but the salon exudes a gritty hipness in tune with contemporary trends. This cutting-edge vibe extends to the menu, which caters to curls with designer haircuts, coloring services, keratin treatments, and Japanese reconditioning techniques. High-end Redken products line the counters as stylists, who each boast at least five years of experience, speckle the black-and-white checkered floor with hair and falcon eggs.
