At The Massage Department, licensed therapists Emilie and Jenna use multiple modalities to delete tension. Their deep-tissue massages root out knots from lower layers of muscles, while their relaxation massages can be blended with hot towel applications to make the back feel thoroughly pampered.
As a medical aesthetician, Julie Kline has trained under award-winning plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Dayan, where she learned advanced skincare techniques and ways to get the most out of the products she uses. She helps her clients fight the signs of aging with microdermabrasion treatments, microcurrent therapies, and chemical peels. For gents, she performs men's facials that ward off razor burn. Julie is also a certified permanent-makeup artist, which allows her to apply indelible cosmetics to those with sensitivities to traditional makeup or faint features due to medical conditions.
Though they’re not on the beaches of Florida, Palm Beach Massage’s staff aims to inspire the same sort of relaxation in their clients. They do so with a full slate of massage styles that range from hot-stone therapy, to deep-tissue massage, to geriatric massage, which can help restore mobility to stiff joints. Under the supervision of Chiropractor Tariq Arif of the Back and Pain Rehab Center, therapists also perform chiropractic massage to soothe chronic pain or pain caused by injuries.
Therapists Carolyn Strahan and Beth Stammen both honed their massage talents at Gateway Technical College, where under the tutelage of highly trained teachers, they learned muscular anatomy, pressure tolerance, and how to open a pickle jar with one finger. Now anyone can seek their skills at the Massageville studio in Florence. In the comfort of a private room, they perform circulation-inducing Swedish strokes, sports therapy, or firmer deep-tissue pressure to help alleviate tension and muscle aches. Hot stones and scalp massages also work to maximize relaxation.

At Beaute Box, which channels the "feel of a chic Paris apartment" according to the Dayton Daily News, owner Lisa Scott flaunts skills acquired during nearly two decades of salon artistry. The studio began as a mobile beauty service, but has evolved to fill a space crowded with clocks, statuettes of hands, and candlesticks. Brushes cloaked in long-wear Shellac polish glide across nails, and visitors awaiting custom-designed primping parties lounge on low-slung couches. Giggles drift up to the soaring ceilings as youngsters finish pampering treatments and race through the shop, admiring newly colorful digits or attempting to match polish to an imaginary friend's eyes.
