A licensed and insured company, Fun Services has equipped events with entertainment and eats for more than 30 years. Within Fun Services' inventory, concession stands with Fun Services–supplied catering await to dot midways alongside carnival sports games such as a basketball toss and high-speed pitching. A Lil Bubba train showcases its ability to escort visitors from parking areas or transport tots in ovular trips around fairgrounds, and mechanical bulls compete to fling riders higher into afternoon skies. At iRISE Performance, no two workouts ever have to be identical. Bootcamps and group classes spice up routines to add a social element to exercise, and rows of cardio equipment and weights allow individuals to progress at their own pace. But then the gym branches out beyond the expected. Two high-school-regulation basketball courts and one college-regulation court prompt pickup games before players step up to three powerlifting platforms to test their resolve. And anyone seeking to infuse their routine with functional-fitness moves can have a heyday in the turf room, where sleds, sandbags, a battling rope, and TRX equipment engage the core.
iRise Performance steps outside the gym too for a more holistic look at well-being. A fully functioning kitchen hosts cooking demonstrations and nutrition classes to help clients rethink their diet. And iRise also keeps exercisers from making up excuses or forging doctors notes for their trainers by giving them something precious: time. An onsite childcare room watches tots while parents and guardians blast their bodies in the gym.
In 2009, Golf Digest readers chose Falcon Ridge as the 17th-best public course in the United States. Recognized time and again on a national level, Falcon Ridge's course is a trip through the rippling hills of western Lenexa. Pristine manicured Zoysia tees are at the start every hole, which lead to terrain that challenges every aspect of a player's game. It's not all about bogies and birdies, though—the course has frequent elevation changes where you can get gorgeous views that are worth the trip alone. Away from the fairways, golfers can even take some swings at Falcon Ridge's 25-station driving range or two-tiered putting area.

Monica Reid, general manager of Adventure Zip KC, says her favorite part of supplying outdoor thrills is "being able to give people the opportunity to overcome a fear and try a new adventure." To that end, she and the park's staff have slightly modified their 143 acres of wilderness to include ziplines, trails, climbing walls, and even obstacle courses. The zip lines are the star amenities of the park, featuring more than 300 feet in elevation change from top to bottom. The high-speed adventure begins with a climb into a 65-foot tower sitting at the park's highest point, providing views of downtown Kansas City, the Kansas River, and even Lawrence. From there, adventurers ride a zipline over a quarter of a mile of forest––rocketing through trees at speeds of up to 45 miles per hour––to reach the next 45-foot tower. After that, the lines descend further, taking riders both over and under the canopy on a journey earthward that evokes the feeling of being a clown recently shot from a cannon.
