After shedding the extra pounds that came along with hypothyroidism and three pregnancies, Melody Chandler founded Texas Fit Chicks Boot Camp to share her weight-loss strategies and support with other women. Her all-female staff of certified personal trainers helps exercisers of all fitness levels shape their bodies during group fitness classes. In an effort to challenge muscle memory, the team shakes up workout regimens by using different techniques and equipment—including kettlebells, resistance bands, and lead sweatpants—each day. Melody’s team also helps exercisers retain their results by supplying nutrition support with meal plans and recipes that use healthy ingredients.
Jeremy D. Jackson holds three distinct certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, from personal trainer to corrective exercise specialist. He understands not only how to build muscle and burn fat, but how the musculature and skeleton should work in concert to keep the body healthy. He puts this knowledge—honed over eight years in the fitness industry—to work in The GetFit Nation's outdoor boot camps held at locations all across Dallas.
Jeremy and his trainers alter their prescribed regimen daily, increasing the rate of calorie consumption and muscle growth by refusing to let their clients' bodies adapt to repetitive motions. Though comprised of an every-changing array of exercises, each complete regimen builds the body's abilities for functional movement, strength, and power.
Although members are free to use any of the Precor, Life Fitness, and Hammer Strength fitness machines that permeate Academy Fitness's facility, they don't have to work out aimlessly. That's because the professional trainers meet one-on-one with clients to formulate a workout plan based on their personal strengths, weaknesses, and fitness goals. These consultations precede fitness classes, such as Zumba and boot camps, as well as personal-training regimens.
Fit Body Boot Camp instructors guide clients toward their fitness and weight-loss goals at locations throughout the world. They lead group workouts that integrate cardio exercise with resistance training, weight training, and light alligator wrestling, keeping sessions varied in order to avoid disheartening plateaus. Nutritional guidance supplements tailored fitness programs to ensure that clients are properly fueled to lose, gain, or maintain their weight.
Celebrating their 10th year in business this year, Transformation Boot Camp’s team sums up their philosophy on living in one simple phrase: “We are never done.” In that spirit, Transformation Boot Camp celebrates positivity, teamwork, and the gallons of sweat that fuel people down the path to fitness. Each of the 4-week boot camps begin with a body assessment that allows students to track every ounce, inch, or percentage of body fat lost. Jill Schroeder, owner and trainer at Baby Boot Camp, began her business when she had her first daughter and wanted to regain her pre-baby fitness level without hiring a babysitter or joining a gym. Today, she leads stroller fitness programs, which focus on allowing new moms to build strength and balance while still spending time with their stroller-aged children (ages 6 weeks to 5 years).
Dance is all about motion, so it’s fitting that Dancer-Strong began as a mobile dance-teaching operation. Skilled instructors have traveled all-over to different studios to educate students. Eventually, the desire to teach a full schedule of classes led the group to open their four-studio academy in 2012. They quickly expanded their offerings with a selection of fitness classes.
Today, the instructors teach 11 forms of dance as well as 11 different fitness classes, and an outdoor boot camp. In the next room, they might be torching calories with Zumba or kickboxing. They also teach students how to perform classical steps in ballet and move to the contemporary rhythms of hip hop.They even offer an entire track of dance classes geared toward home-schooled students’ unique schedules.
