With nearly 20 locations spread out across Seattle and its surrounding areas, Northwest Storages has offered convenient residential and commercial storage since 1991. The company boasts a wide range of unit sizes, from small lockers to large contractor spaces, and many of its facilities include 24-hour access. As an added bonus, all Northwest Storages locations provide a complimentary move-in truck rental and high-security lock, not to mention a well-trained team that is skilled in packing spaces wisely.
The chefs at 2 Brothers Deli don't create their signature pizzas alone. They combine their recipes with guest submissions that are voted upon by the clientele. The results have proved very tasty, with current pizzas topped with gorgonzola sauce, thin-sliced potatoes, parmesan and romano cheeses, arugula, sunny-side-up eggs, and a drizzling of truffle oil. The chefs even bake gluten-free crusts so that everyone can enjoy the unique flavor combinations. They also fry up wings to serve with seven sauces, including chipotle barbecue and garlic butter.
Long waits and harsh lighting are just two inconveniences that can plague a standard trip to the post office. The process leaves little room for relaxation, let alone time to kick back and enjoy a freshly made latte. That's what Sip and Ship hopes to remedy. The family-owned business combines two different worlds—the post office and a coffee shop—into an operation that runs as smoothly as its coffee goes down.
The process is both friendly and simple: customers bring in items they need to send far away, such a piece of art, an old-fashioned letter, or a cursed monkey's paw. The Sip and Ship team wraps, packs, and ships it—all while customers wind down with organic, locally roasted drinks and homemade cookies and scones. In between all the sipping and shipping, customers can squeeze in some shopping, too; the store stocks its shelves with bottled wine, bath products, and even children's toys.
When Joan Barnes founded Gymboree Play & Music in 1976, she envisioned a facility where parents and children could play together in a safe and age-appropriate environment. In the following decades, Gymboree Play & Music spread to more than 30 countries across the globe, helping youngsters from infants to 5 years old develop cognitive, physical, and social skills. The company's instructors lead classes such as Play & Learn, its flagship course, in which parents and kids move through a seven-level program filled with storytelling, play activities, and debates on the merits of sandwich crust. Talented staffers also prep youngsters for school and foster development in areas such as music, art, and sports. Throughout all classes, they make use of custom play equipment designed by acclaimed playground designer and seesaw-tamer Jay Beck.:m]]
When Jerrod Sessler was diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer in 1999, he found a link between his diet and his illness?and he sought the nutrients of organic produce to help him fight it. Sessler founded Freggies to offset the then-high prices and low availability of organic produce, and today, the company delivers Organic Trade Association?certified fruits and vegetables throughout the Seattle area. Participants can set up recurring deliveries of Freggies' latest harvest or create their own boxes from whatever produce is in season, from avocados, chard, and fennel, to coconuts, pears, and baby bok choy. Freggies also stocks dry goods such as dried fruit and citrus juice.
As dusk settles in every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, vegetables start appearing all over Seattle. A team of locals stealthily drops off fruits and vegetables swaddled in handmade cedar boxes on customers' doorsteps like baby storks. The following morning, with work complete, the team retires as the city's residents wake to the sound of locally grown, organic radishes, potatoes, and nectarines mewling at their doorsteps.
Subscribers to Pacific Coast Harvest's fruit and vegetable plans get produce deliveries at regular intervals. The benefit is mutual—as customers bite into crisp lettuce and juicy oranges, their subscriptions support local farms and fund their investment in sustainable practices.
