Top 40 hits blast from speakers on the walls at Starlite Skating Center, sending skaters bouncing to the beat as they glide across the rink. Though the music is modern, the roller rink itself is a throwback: it's made of genuine hardwood maple, like the ones that were so popular in the 1960s. Zooming on top of it is as easy as picking up a pair of rental skates?but for those who?ve never traveled on eight wheels, the centers offer skating lessons, teaching students skills from basic balancing to skating while you're in a handstand.
The centers entertain families off the rink, as well. Players can test their skills on 50 arcade games, while littler children jump and swing in the padded playgrounds. The Sharpsburg location also has a laser tag arena, where siblings and friends square off in space-age shooting matches.

Just 15 minutes from Atlanta, Panola Mountain is a recreational haven for all ages and interests. Visitors can picnic while children work off energy on the playground. Anglers can bring their fishing poles to catch dinner at Alexander Lake. Panola Mountain State Park is one of the only state parks to offer archery programming (including a state of the art 3D practice range, for those with their own equipment), as well as "Canopy Adventure" tree climbing programs. Tree-climbing is great for families, youth organizations, corporate team-building excursions, and can accommodate any physical disability. The park also offers boat rental, geocaching, orienteering, birding and hiking. Georgia's PATH Foundation scenic Rockdale River Trail winds through the park and is ideal for biking, roller blading, jogging and dog-walking.
Panola Mountain is a 100-acre granite outcrop similar to Stone Mountain, but smaller and much more pristine. Panola is special because it's never been quarried, and as a National Natural Landmark, has had limited human impact. Because of this, it has many incredible rare ecologic features. Panola Mountain State Park is the crown jewel of the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area, one of only three National Heritage Areas in the state. The park?s unusual natural beauty and intriguing cultural changes are the basis for this special recognition.

The team at Tutus and Tennis Shoes specialize in entertaining youngsters with a variety of party options. During royal-themed festivities, the civilian birthday girl and her guests transform into princesses thanks to a costume chest brimming with gowns, tiaras, and pearls. Pop-star costumes replace glamorous gowns during Diva Rock Star parties, whereas co-ed Princesses and Pirates parties allow boys to get in on the fun by donning swashbuckling outfits. Dress-up is just one facet of the themed parties, however. They can also be tailored to include activities such as karaoke, fashion shows, and spa treatments, along with tasty snacks and icy beverages. For maximum convenience, festivities can take place onsite at the decorated party venue or in the comfort of the host’s home.
In addition to parties, the staff also hosts etiquette classes where children learn the art of apologizing, sharing, and table manners. The focus turns to dining during princess-etiquette sessions, where young girls don fancy threads before learning how to correctly use utensils and bestow knighthood with a soup ladle.
Enduring attention spans are rendered unnecessary at Fun Galaxy, where the staff oversees ample entertainment options in one huge facility. While smaller kids and toddlers tackle a multi-level playground packed with soft obstacles, their older siblings take a turn at roller-skating or exploring the indoor skate. A mechanical bull and more than 30 arcade games round out the attractions, which are also available for birthday-party packages.
The licensed and insured cleaners at 2 Ladies & a Broom rid residences of clutter and mess during 2-hour, detail-oriented scrubbing sessions. Armed with their own cleaning supplies and treats to distract territorial dust mites, crews disinfect, sanitize, and shine as many surfaces as they can during the allotted timeframe. The tidy techs' vacuums zip across floors in bedrooms and living rooms, their scrubbers sanitize toilets, and their cloths clean out refrigerators, making a hygienic home for vegetables and butter sculptures of vegetables.
Crafted by the same wood wizards who built ramps at Woodward's renowned skateboarding camps, Hazard County Skate Park is chock full of ramps, rails, soapboxes, and sweet transitions to appease skaters of all ages and skill levels. Beginners can embark on a four-wheeled adventure, learning basic skills such as how to push properly, how to drop in, and how to perform a 900-degree spin by pressing up arrow while holding the B button. More advanced riders scoot closer to board mastery by focusing on kick flips, front 360 flips, the pop shove it, and various grinds and grabs. Private tutorials are offered any day of the week; simply call ahead to make an appointment. Social skaters may opt for two group classes, held Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon. Classes are led by skate scientists Eli Williams and Shelton Halstead, who in addition to being talented teachers and avid McTwisters, also spend time singing "Defying Gravity" from the musical Wicked.
