Dynamic Sports & Fitness was established in 2007 by Certified Fitness Trainer, Javonne Blackley. After training in a local gym setting, Blackley decided to venture off and start her own personal training business. After coordinating boot camps in the local parks, she expanded her business by offering more services.
Swimming, football, basketball, tennis, and golf are all very different sports, requiring very different skills. But at Mclimited4Sports, coach and accomplished athlete Johnny Mcclenton—who has spent time in NBA organizations and as a member of the Junior Davis Cup team—schools young athletes in each of the above sports by boiling things down to the basics and focusing on fundamentals. During basketball lessons, for instance, Coach Johnny has students practice ball handling and defense; during golf lessons, they work on posture and balance. Coach Johnny strives to keeps his curriculum flexible, and puts an emphasis on maintaining a personal connection with his students to better understand their goals and aspirations.
The top-notch team of personal trainers and nutritionists at Dynamic Sports & Fitness is dedicated to whipping their clients into shape. Their outdoor boot camps incorporate CrossFit-style body-resistance workouts to improve everything from core strength and coordination to speed and agility. The studio also offers one-on-one personal training, workouts geared toward sports performance, and even online coaching.
Head coach Keefa Hawkins and her staff of certified CrossFit instructors often quip that CrossFit Iconz classes are “hard and fast, with no cuddling afterwards.” The coaches eschew traditional gym amenities of cardio machines, cushy locker rooms, and trainers that give you piggyback rides to your car, packing their no-frills gym with functional training equipment and free weights instead. Throughout the week, the staff lead students of all ages and abilities through challenging, high-intensity CrossFit workouts comprised of a constantly rotating tapestry of functional movements designed to enhance strength, agility, and coordination. The instructors even conduct CrossFit classes for kids, where workouts are specially tailored to suit the unique physical developmental needs of youngsters.
LaToya Bond didn't always answer to "coach." Before she earned that title at Playmakers International, LLC, she played in the WNBA, as well as leagues in Cyprus, Israel, and Poland. But she couldn't ignore coaching's call; Bond left professional basketball after her 2009 season and started volunteering coaching. In addition to training basketball players at Playmakers with a focus on reshaping their mental, physical, and emotional approach to the game, she coaches a seventh-grade girls' basketball team.
