Swathed in the Cape Cod–style clubhouse of LeBaron Hills Country Club, Lilly’s captivates palates with a seasonal menu of seafood, steak, and pasta. Conjure the flavors of summer with a greens-and-pineapple salad ($7 for a half portion, $9 for a full portion), a mix of citrus chunks and mango dressing for tropical flavors and wasabi peas for seasonal heat. Chefs create foodscapes on a linguini canvas by painting hills of sautéed chicken and lobster and a forest of mushrooms, broccoli, and roasted tomatoes with a gorgonzola cream sauce ($13 for a half portion, $24 for a full portion). Prosciutto-wrapped pork tenderloin and asparagus ($19) snorkel through a sea of chipotle cream sauce, excavating submerged scallions and pirate doubloons from mounds of mashed potatoes. A three-layer feast, the Georgia Banks grilled swordfish ($30) rests on a pile of sliced potatoes while the sweet juices of a pineapple, mango, and strawberry salsa run down its sides.
Specializing in birthday parties and kids' art classes, Create Hands On helps create memories by combining family bonding experiences and creative education with more than six different, hands-on tasks for parents and tykes to enjoy together. At various stations around their space, kids hand-stuff their own personalized teddy bear and decorate it with extras, or use cool toys, scents, and toy surprises to craft their very own soap at a soap-making experience station. The jewelry station, which doesn't require tools, showcases pristine bits and bobs of jewelry making. Visitors can also use brush and paint to personalize hundreds of pottery pieces.
At FunFlicks Outdoor Movies’ indoor and outdoor events, sound swells over the chatter of crowds, whose voices hush in the flickering glow of a portable big screen. During showings, the company's staff of cinematic emcees presents VHS, DVD, or Blu-ray reels on an arsenal of high-quality equipment. Audiences as large as 5,000 viewers gather on blankets or lawn chairs, eyes wide at the scenes of romance or attempts to get Darth Vader through airport security that leap from the projector. Hosts can also opt to amplify movie experiences with a theater-style popcorn machine, which kicks out fresh kernels throughout flicks. In addition to motion pictures, FunFlicks’ mammoth silver screens are available for transmitting popular sporting events, including NFL games and documentaries about the dangers of petting a mascot’s cubs.
Ease into the day with a 6:45 a.m. Vinsyana yoga class with rising-sun salutations on Mondays or empower your prettiest part with a belly-dance class on Thursdays. Hula-hoop dance and urban hip-hop bring rhythm, grace, and choreography into any weekly routine or routine of salvaging dryer lint to stuff a spare mattress. New classes are added to The Spot's schedule about every six weeks, so fast learners can mix and match their five to master the fancy footwork of a wide array of dances (all classes must be redeemed within five weeks of attending the first session.)
