Inside ProtecHockey Ponds Ice Center’s impressive, 52,000-square-foot facility, figure skaters, hockey players, and casual skaters alike glide across three separate ice surfaces—including an NHL regulation-size rink—during lessons, games, and public-skating sessions. Ranging from junior hockey players to New Jersey state figure-skating champions, the team of coaches imparts skills during everything from introductory skating lessons to four-day hockey camps. When the center isn't hosting the public for skate sessions, ProtecHockey Ponds Ice Center is home to the Rutgers University Men's Ice Hockey team, the Protec Ducks Hockey Program, and the nationally recognized Protec Academy Learn-to-Skate Program. Beyond the boards, a full-service café serves lattes for visitors to warm up before watching the center's hockey teams. The rink's staff can also host birthday parties, group outings, and fundraisers in their private room.

White Lotus Home bedecks abodes with a variety of natural and organic furnishings and accessories handmade in the United States. Each organic mattress—available in standard and custom sizes—buoys patrons atop 8–10 layers of U.S.-grown cotton, with most mattresses lasting 5–15 years, depending on how often they are used as settings for moon-landing reenactments. The cotton and wool mattress wraps its core of organically grown, harvested, and processed cotton with New Zealand virgin lamb's wool ($254 for a zabuton; $2,133 for a king-size mattress), which serves to repel dust mites while helping to regulate the body temperatures of its dozing owners. The gentle weave of a pure organic cotton blanket ($82 for a throw) banishes shivers, and handmade sets of organic cotton sateen sheets ($111 for a crib, $349 for a king) grace mattresses with a gentle embrace. Accessorize new linen ensembles without sewing diamonds into pillowcases by enlisting natural furniture such as solid-wood nightstands ($393 for the Pac Rim Classic).
Harvest Specialty Catering, a one-time market and barbecue joint, is celebrating two decades in the food business by opening a restaurant in the New Brunswick Elks Lodge. The chefs here still cater parties and private events, but now they also whip up deli-style sandwiches, salads, and burgers for those who come to the lodge for lunch. Pulled-pork sandwiches pay tribute to those early days at the original East Brunswick location, while hot reubens on rye showcase tangy sauerkraut, an elk's favorite food.
