If a jack of all trades is a master of none, then the aestheticians at Eyebrow Hub can safely call themselves masters of the art of eyebrow threading. They rid hirsute foreheads of unwanted stragglers, leaving behind gorgeously arched brows, but none of the redness, swelling, or amorous bees left by waxing. Despite the name, the threadsters also apply their hair-removal services to other areas, including upper lips, chins, and legs. Guests with a mind to supplement their threading, can go in for henna tattoos, eyelash extensions, and microdermabrasion.

Lash Out's team of licensed cosmetologists and aestheticians don't offer facials or massages. In fact, they're only concerned with making eyelashes as beautiful as possible. This laser-like focus helps them pay closer attention to the things that matter, like using the best products and practices available. Their menu of eyelash extension includes synthetic lashes as well as cruelty-free Siberian mink extensions applied individually and with the help of a medical-grade adhesive. And though the menu is limited to eyelashes, it's still impressively large. Clients can choose from 3 degrees of curl, 3 different textures, 15 lengths, and 35 scratch-n-sniff aromas.

Chrystal Lemos, a co-owner of The Polish Salon, began her training with a two-year apprenticeship in an upscale Sonoma County salon. She used this hands-on experience as a jumping off point for her training at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, Goldwell in Baltimore, and the Bumble and bumble Academy in New York.

She teamed up with Leslie Beer to open up The Polished Salon. The studio's modern façade offsets a classic interior of hardwood floors and antiques, reflecting Chrystal's ability to execute both sleek cuts and hairdos in the shape of Edwardian sideboards. She's also experienced in coloring services and straightening techniques, which she pairs with an unfailingly friendly demeanor.
