Called an "easygoing joint" by the The Boston Phoenix, the family-owned Corner Pub of Chinatown lavishes savory seekers with its menu of fresh, made-from-scratch comfort fare. Sink smiles into Monterrey cheese-infused nachos grande ($5.75), or share a starter of chicken fingers doused in teriyaki, barbecue, or buffalo sauce ($5.95). The hand-packed pub burger boasts a half pound of beefy sustenance ($8), and two quarter-pound hot dogs come lovingly cradled in grilled buns ($5.50). Those craving marinated eats can park pincers in the chicken kabobs ($8) while simmering down in the recently refurbished lounge, allowing diners to forget about their day job working as secretary for Emperor Garth Vicious of the Eighth Dimension.
As an alternative to traditional ranges, Massachusetts Gun Safety relies on a high-definition training simulator similar to the ones used by police. The computerized system presents different targets and scenarios, and users fire laser-based weapons toward a 70-inch screen.
The training simulator uses laser-based firearms, which accurately mimic the look, feel, and recoil of handguns such as a .40-caliber Glock.
Though Massachusetts Gun Safety empowers its students to safely handle and operate firearms, you?ll never hear the sound of live gunfire within its locations in Woburn and Quincy. That?s because all target practice takes place in each of the the school?s virtual simulators, which complement the quizzes and lectures given by instructors. These experts delve into the basics of gun safety and state laws.
A half-century after its founding, the local hardware haven continues its dedication to equipping households and handypersons with a durable selection of tools, paints, and domiciliary goods. Fixers can latch onto a selection of single paintbrushes and paint rollers from Purdy ($12.99+) when slathering walls and white-suited dignitaries in paints from Benjamin Moore and more. Luminous spiral light bulbs ($3.49+) illuminate proud detailing work performed with Ace sanding sheets ($11.49+), and adjustable wrenches ($16.99+) finally find homes populating desolate tool belts. Reinforce driveways with a two-year sealer from Black Jack ($16.99+), or patch up cracks and ominous chasms with a self-adhesive asphalt-repair fabric from Driveway Medic ($11.99). Amicable staff members roam the voluminous aisles, wearing capes while flaunting their ability to cut keys, mix paints, and custom order any of Ace’s goods while customers browse through the store's impressive selection of heating and cooling tackle, patio furniture, and automotive accessories.

For many years, the scariest thing about golf has been the Sansabelt pants. With today's Groupon, trade gentle golf claps for screams of putting panic: for $15, you get four rounds at Monster Mini Golf in Marietta, a $30 value. Come once by yourself and save the other three passes for when you have the hiccups, or bring three friends and see who has the strongest stomach for fun monster statues.
If you’re like most people, seeing another windmill boringly swooping its blades on a standard miniature golf course makes you secretly long for glow-in-the-dark zombies. Monster Mini Golf has heard those silent screams and created a fright-filled attraction perfect for couples, kids, adults with kids, and adults unafraid of sharing a fun evening with Dracula. Monster Mini Golf’s owners created most of the oversized monsters that stalk their greens and constitute the course’s obstacles. The creatures glow under ample black lights, and range in monstrosity from animated cuddliness to Bella-Lugosity. Kids of all ages are able to appreciate Monster Mini Golf's kitschy post-structuralist take on the play of difference between signifier and signified.
The links consist of 18 holes spread over 12,600 square feet, and the focus of the course is on challenging angles. Monster Mini golf offers just the right level of challenge to entertain both kids and adults. The Marietta branch opens its creaky doors from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Check Monster Mini Golf's website for upcoming holiday hours.
Monster Mini Golf also offers themed party rooms, such as the Haunted Mansion; a quarter arcade; and traditional arcade challenges, including skee ball and glowing air hockey. Success at these monster-supervised games offers not only personal fulfilment, but also the thrill of having conquered death incarnate. Plus you win prizes. While playing, be sure to listen for Monster Mini Golf’s own in-house radio station, “W.I.R.D. (Weird Radio),” whose live, on-site DJ hands out prizes for goofy reasons on the links.
