The recipient of numerous Tony Awards upon its Broadway debut in 1987 and subsequent revival in 2002, Into the Woods marries a number of Grimm’s fairy tales with the mellifluous touch of storied composer Stephen Sondheim. South Jordan Community Theatre co-founder and Into the Woods director Kevin Dudley describes the musical as a means to “examine our dreams through nearly every fairy tale we were familiar with as children,” and relishes the second act’s poignant portrayal of what it truly means to live “happily ever after.” Talented local performers round out the 20-person cast, and music director Michelle Willis returns to the orchestra pit after taking a sabbatical to master the ring whistle.

The safety-certified coaches at Olympus Gymnastics have taught talented tumblers that have gone on to participate every year in the Junior National Olympics and Utah State Championships. Students ages 3 to 15 years can pick from a schedule of floor-tumbling classes, dropping into the facility once a week to increase their physical dexterity, hone their mental determination, and develop their vocabulary for pommel-horse whispering. Coaches teach tots the basics during classes, and leaping adolescents limber up their bodies in tiered levels and earn their way toward airborne flight, vaulted exploration, and bar-gripping acrobatics. The experienced staff evoke a positive and encouraging atmosphere, in which every child receives individual attention, support, and an opportunity to take an honest bow that wasn't earned by being the first to throw pudding across the school cafeteria.

Jason Haslam hasn't kept his passion for fly fishing to himself. Instead, the veteran fly fisher founded Fly Drifters of Utah as a way to share his passion with others. Throughout each season, he and his guides lead fly fishing trips to nearby streams and rivers. On the trips, they teach participants the best techniques for catching brown trout, midges, and blue winged olives. They also hold classes that cover topics ranging from casting and knot tying to reading the water even when there isn't an open book on top of it.
