The three founders of Scariff Hardiman School of Irish Dance, Stephen Scariff, Alan Scariff, and Kieran Hardiman bring the vibrant footwork and Celtic rhythms of the Emerald Isle’s most recognizable dances to the eager feet of local students. Each instructor comes to class backed by years of performance experience—Alan makes use of the eight years he spent touring with Riverdance, and Stephen draws on insights gained while co-creating and choreographing Irish Dance Invasion, an international hit that introduced the world to the military advantages of red hair. Each man also bears the blessing of An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha, the world’s authority on Irish dance authenticity since the 1930s.
Although several of the coaches at The Swim Academy have backgrounds in competitive swimming, you're just as likely to find them teaching a young child to perform survival floating as a triathlete to increase his or her speed. In fact, the coaches even work with swimmers who have a fear of the water, helping them overcome their anxiety and gain confidence in their swimming technique. The school recommends scheduling lessons once or twice a week for 30 minutes at a time to ensure retention.
