Balls fly across five courts at The Pacific Juniors Volleyball Club, where young sports enthusiasts play recreational volleyball and train to perform better. Volleyball programs target every type of player, from kids hoping to gain new skills to teens who want to spike balls on the beach, while camps and clinics test players' abilities. In the facility's weight room, members build endurance on a treadmill, strengthen muscles using free weights, or enjoy a faux picnic on the turf workout area.
The team of trainers at UPEC Fitness includes a former USC defensive back, the daughter of a Mr. California titleholder, and a high school athletics coach whose students have earned scholarships to prestigious institutions such as UCLA. Armed with diverse backgrounds and knowledge, they lead their students through a broad spectrum of programs ranging from personal training and boot camps to Zumba, aerobics classes, and sport-specific training for football, golf, volleyball, basketball, martial arts, and more.
Upland Sports Arena's 70,000-square-foot indoor complex ensures games go on in any weather on the facility's four synthetic grass fields. Kids take to the turf in youth leagues and the Lil Kickers program, which teaches children as young as 18 months basic soccer skills like which feet to put cleats on. Adults also hit the fields for co-ed dodgeball and soccer leagues, frequenting the on-site sports bar to unwind and celebrate victories with a beer and a bite.
A sprawling multisport facility, Next Level Sports Complex welcomes athletes from all walks to train, join youth and adult leagues, or enroll in athletic clinics and camps. The complex contains 11 basketball courts, 14 volleyball courts, and 4 turf fields for soccer and other sports. When they're not participating in open-gym and league games, athletes can take advantage of the weight-training facilities or various fitness courses.
Hoops on Fire Athletics specializes in practical drills designed to elevate players' skills on the basketball court. Whether leading private, group, or team lessons, the instructors help improve players' vertical jump, agility, and footwork through techniques such as plyometrics, kettlebell training, and basketball-specific speed drills. In basketball lessons or clinics for volleyball and other sports, participants learn skills specifically for use in-game, rather than practicing generalized workouts.
