At Precision Gymnastics we believe gymnastics is much more than a sport. It provides for lessons in goal setting, self-esteem, motivation and pride. It teaches the courage to believe in ones-self; along with discipline and superior mental and physical fitness.
Twisters Gymnastics’ dedicated staffers assist the physical and mental development of children via various gymnastics- and play-based activities within an 18,000-square-foot facility. An array of full-size Olympic equipment, including half a dozen balance beams, a pair of parallel bars, and a trio of trampolines guarded by gold-medalist kangaroos, aids in aerial and flexibility-enhancing pursuits. A pommel horse and still rings increase balance and build upper-body strength in older children, and an obstacle course, 30-foot slide, and play area—equipped with a ball pit and multihued tubes—keep tots entertained. Alongside birthday parties for energetic celebrants and guests, Twister Gymnastics hosts a plentitude of gymnastics and tumbling programs, ranging from one-hour courses to competitive teams. Twister Gymnastics also holds preschool gymnastics classes, summer-camp programs, open workout sessions, and somersault endurance contests in an anti-gravitational chamber.
In 1976, Joan Barnes—a California mom frustrated with the lack of spaces where she could take her kids for safe and age-appropriate play time—took matters into her own hands and founded Gymboree Play and Music. In the decades since Gymboree’s founding, Joan’s vision of a safe place where youngsters could build confidence and creativity has come to fruition and spread to 30 countries around the globe. Staffed by attentive and expertly trained instructors, each Gymboree outpost adheres to a curriculum of activities designed by experts to foster the development of children's cognitive, physical, and social skills through structured play and close readings of Goodnight Moon. The staffers also conduct entertaining classes for parents, newborns, and children under 1 year that cover subjects ranging from music to sports, imparting valuable lessons of imagination and physical activity to developing minds. To further set apart her business, Barnes employed nationally renowned playground designer Jay Beckwith to design the proprietary play equipment at her centers.
Inflated structures, slides, and games fill the climate-controlled environs of the numerous BounceU locations that speckle the nation. At each site, staff members closely monitor all activities as little ones traverse obstacle courses or pull on oversized inflatable boxing gloves. The crew also invites parents to join in on the fun, letting them bounce alongside their kids or make sweeping edicts from atop a bouncy-castle throne. In addition to open sessions, the indoor-play haven sets the stage for the Preschool Playdate program, where instructors lead games and activities. Special events include family-bounce night, which lets parents join in the bouncing or relax in the party room and do grownup things, such as eat marshmallows with a knife and fork.
The team of tumbling instructors at KidZone help develop gymnastic skills in kids aged 1–18. Parents can join little ones for open-play sessions, and older kids can attend boys' or girls' classes divided by age group in a studio outfitted with tumbling mats, trampolines, uneven bars, and other equipment. Those interested in serious tumbling can pursue instruction through the Tidal Wave program, which introduces strength-and-endurance training. Students also could have the opportunity to eventually join the Riptide All-Star cheer squad, a competitive performance squad that trains at KidZone.
