With a sound foundation in psychophysical concepts of child development, PlayWisely’s curriculum helps kids aged 4–36 months progress through the milestones of childhood. Classes are divided by age into four separate groups, wherein child-development experts interact with kids and their parents to help the children improve their sensory, language and movement skills while teaching parents important tips on how to promote learning through play.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center gives kids a little round-headed person's view of the world, surrounding them with blown-up versions of normally miniature plastic environments. At six locations across North America, children ages 3 and older?and their adults?drive all-terrain buggies through a Lego forest in hot pursuit of bank robbers, travel through a dungeon blasting skeletons with laser guns, and build and test their own race cars on a colorful track. At every location, visitors can enter the 4D Cinema, where 3D Lego films are enhanced with in-theater weather effects such as wind and snow. They can also look out over Lego-brick recreations of the local city that feature scale models of landmarks such as Chicago's Navy Pier.

An exploration of the bright world of plastic bricks doesn't have to end at the attractions. To continue the fun at home, shops at each location house hundreds of current Lego sets.

Polar Ice House beckons ice-caperers aged 3 and older onto its slippery stage, where they can hone figure-skating and hockey skills or simply twiddle their blades during daily open-skate sessions. Beginners' skating courses include an all-ages Learn to Skate program and a Parent-Tot class that re-creates the gliding experience of moonwalking on an air-hockey table. The rink also hosts whirling laser-light shows that captivate the eyes of skaters on Friday and Saturday night, as well as private events such as birthday parties or broomball tournaments.
