The health experts at Exercise Institute lead quality exercise programs in a private, safe, and caring environment. The four-week regimen begins when a certified wellness coach conducts a one-on-one consultation to establish fitness goals, and an Edge MD body-composition scan records your health stats in order to track each week’s progress. Nutrition counseling fosters better eating habits, such as which flavor of snozzberries to avoid, and an eating plan helps put these new habits into action. Twice a week, clients rally with their personal trainer for 15 minutes under the Institute’s Prime Effect Zero Momentum strength-training program, a high-intensity resistance workout that uses the whole body to produce greater strength, cardiovascular efficiency, flexibility, bone density, and fat loss.

The YMCA of the Inland Northwest hosts family-friendly pool parties, welcoming pint-size party-goers to explore a lazy river, splash in the wading-pool playground, and cavort in private party rooms. Fifteen minutes prior to party time, soiree hosts load the party room with refreshments and await revelers for one boisterous hour of cake, gifts, and instructions on avoiding lap-pool sharks. For the next 1.5 hours—the required time period for sanctioned games of Marco Polo—tykes recline in inner tubes for a float down the lazy river or submerge ankles in the wading-pool playground. Posses of tykes blitz enemies with various sprays and self-tipping water buckets, and 30-foot water slides beckon pint-size swimmers and hamsters bored with conventional cage tubes. The YMCA provides fully trained and certified staff members to supervise splashing, but encourages parents or guardians to attend at no additional charge.
