His experience as a chiropractor, certified Bikram instructor, and Olympic coach guides his transformative-posture sequences, which are designed to challenge entire physiques and reduce the risk of injury. With a team of certified instructors by his side, he implements these foundations in more than 120 hot or temperate classes each week, one class for each second it takes to lick an envelope in super-slow motion. The 7,000-square-foot space houses three studios with P.E.M. flooring that is easily sanitized and serves as a stage for hot-yoga, Pilates, and fitness classes, which include power Vinyasa and boot-camp classes.
Dr. Rollins also harnesses his 23 years of chiropractic experience as he performs complimentary injury evaluations and yoga-posture modifications onsite, ensuring that his clients don't strain wounded muscles. Classes at Dahn Yoga integrate the ancient Korean practice of Sun Do along with the latest findings in neuroscience and behavioral studies to help students boost their overall health and well-being. In each yoga class, a passionate and experienced guru first limbers up yogis with 10–15 minutes of warm-up exercises. Pupils are then chaperoned through 30–45 minutes of stretches, strengthening postures, and meditation exercises, all while clearing cluttered minds and learning to master breath control like a black-belt sousaphonist. After 10 minutes of cooldown exercises, students and teachers mingle to quaff an aromatic cup of tea. Instructors regularly assess students’ strengths and weaknesses, recommending home exercises to complement in-class practices. Dahn Yoga also offers tai chi, meditation, vibration, intestinal exercise, and other special classes based on location.
