Before founding Indigo Massage and Healing Center, Joe and Charity pursued virtually every interest they could, traveling across the globe to explore potential passions. Joe worked odd jobs and honed his interpersonal awareness as a nurses’ assistant and life coach, and Charity devoted herself to helping start a rainforest preserve in Costa Rica and volunteering at a Moroccan orphanage. Both their paths, however, eventually converged on their mutual passion: massage. Together, the couple boasts 500-hour certifications and endless additional training, and along with a team of doctors and bodywork experts, they work on issues ranging from muscle pain to overactive skeletons. Beyond the suite of wellness services, which includes acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, and yoga classes, the center offers mental counseling to ensure its clients’ holistic health.

Though quite experienced in the scientific field of traditional healthcare, Dr. Betty Brainerd, ND, believes the natural healing powers of the body can rival those of the lab. For more than 20 years, she has studied and practiced natural healing solutions in both hospitals and private clinics, listening to her patients' needs in order to create a personalized treatment plan that addresses them. Her treatments can reduce allergic reactions, balance bodily chemistry with nutritional supplements, ease chronic pain, or cleanse bodies of toxins and brains of all but the most useful state capitals.
A certified health coach, raw-food chef, and Pilates instructor, Becca Sutter struggled with body-image issues and negative self-talk at an early age. Dance had always been her voice, but one day that voice fell silent. Becca gained weight and began to feel lost, adrift, and unfulfilled. Then she took her first yoga class. This was the spark that would propel her transformation, and she began to feel inspired, rejuvenated, and hopeful once more.
A true model of enlightenment, Becca aims to share her journey with each client that crosses her path. At her studio, she teaches Pilates, barre sculpt, and yoga classes to help students feel better about themselves and shed weight like a cat sheds its claws each summer. She provides diet coaching to help clients control eating cravings and delves even further into healthy eating by educating clients about the benefits of raw-food diets.
Becca still dances—in fact, she’s on the ballet faculty at the Artistic Dance Conservatory—only now, she has discovered even more avenues to help her feel emotionally free and connected to joy.
Jazzercise is 60 minutes of cardio, strength training, and stretching that incorporates moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, jazz dance, kickboxing, and resistance training with handheld weights. Dancing with the Stars' multiple-champion Cheryl Burke is a big fan of Jazzercise's improvisational workouts, though luckily you won't need her dance moves to get the most out of your class. If you're prone to first-class jitters, though, you can review the basic moves online before you go. Expect to burn off up to 600 calories with each go-round.
