While some traditional martial-art schools merely practice patterns or breaking boards, the teachers at Hapkido-USA Springfield LLC buck that trend, focusing purely on the art of self defense in a disciplined, traditional martial-arts environment. "We teach...elements of boxing, kickboxing, ground defense, joint locks, throwing and pinning techniques," says the owner.
Making sure that burgeoning martial artists learned such useful techniques is the very thing that drew him to teaching in the first place, and it remains his favorite part of his job. "[I like] watching students grow in their knowledge and confidence," he says. "In hapkido, people get the increase in self-confidence with a realistic expectation of their self-defense skills."
With programs designed for martial artists aged 4 and older, Martial Arts USA caters to students young and old, not only teaching methods of self-defense, but also the importance of self-discipline and a strong moral foundation. Enrolling kids in classes helps develop focus, respect, and physical acumen during fun, engaging sessions. Adults can sign up for classes in tae kwon do to learn methods of defense while also getting a great workout.
Fun for kids of all ages and adults. Lean self defense, lose weight and have fun while doing it. Adults and Kids classes are separated. We are now offering a Cardio Kickboxing class for those that want to jump start their weight lose.
At Westside MMA, professional mixed-martial-arts instructors tutor students in the calorie-destroying, stress-relieving methods of attack and defense. Having trained everyone from first-timers to internationally competitive pros, the Westside MMA staff is fully equipped to teach pupils the fundamentals of kickboxing. Participants will relish a month of fun, challenging workouts while getting their gloves on proper punch and kick techniques, blocking skills, and footwork drills designed to make full-contact ballroom dancing less intimidating. In addition to forging a stronger core and increasing flexibility in its practitioners, kickboxing can help build confidence, and as a practical self-defense method, it has proved to be 100% more effective than carrying around a balloon with a scary face drawn on it.
