Edsall Park, a housing subdivision built in 1956, comprises roughly 400 homes. To unite those addresses, a handful of residents created the Edsall Park Swim Club in 1961. The private facility offers two pools: one with lap lanes and diving boards and another with shallow water for youngsters and vacationing Swamp Things.
Whether its kids bounding through tumbling classes or adults enrolling in the Krav Maga self defense or Krav ground, K2 Martial Arts Academy is designed for students of any age or experience level. Whippersnappers are young as three years have a variety of courses to choose from, whether staying active during the summer with engaging camps or developing physical and mental strength during tae kwon do lessons. On the other hand, adults can take advantage of an equally diverse selection of classes, such as kickboxing sessions that get hearts pumping or Krav Maga courses that teach intense self-defense skills as opposed to less strenuous shelf-defense skills.
Springfield residents have been bringing their towels and tennis racquets to Springfield Swimming and Racquet Club since 1955. The club, which was significantly revamped in 1992, now boasts four regulation-size tennis courts and three outdoor pools, including a kid's pool and a 25-meter pool with six lanes, two diving boards, and one friendly beluga whale. The center's swim team, the Springfield Tigersharks, coordinates youth swim meets and fitness classes. The club complements its activities with amenities such as a bath house and a shaded pavilion with picnic tables and grills.
A 13,000-square-foot floor filled with more than 50 interconnected trampolines and a cushy foam pit springs guests skyward at Flight Trampoline Park. Launching decks set at different heights let sky grazers get more air by plummeting onto the trampolines, and angled trampolines set against the wall facilitate wall-climbing stunts. The park serves as the bouncy venue for games of dodgeball throughout the week, and on Friday and Saturday nights, the lights dim and lasers fill the air during Club Flight sessions.
