At Manda's Rhythm and Dance, studio director Manda Moore and her staff of seasoned steppers guide budding hoofers through age-specific dance classes for adults and children. Encouragement buzzes through the air at the stress-free studio, where amiable educators help youthful students sharpen vital motor skills, learn healthy habits, and develop the self-confidence needed to back down pushy imaginary friends. Ballet classes impart classic and contemporary techniques, while tap transforms toes into finely tuned instruments or bug squashers. Jazz and hip-hop classes teach distinct, modern dance forms, and creative-movement courses cater to dancers less than 4 years of age with introductions to various styles and lectures on why bibs should never be used as capes.

Nestled within the acoustic splendor of the Blossom Music Center's pyramid-shaped pavilion, you’ll be close enough to taste the high notes of the piccolos, the vibrato of crashing cymbals, and the sass of brassy fanfares as the Blossom Festival Band fills the air with patriotic music. Led by conductor Loras John Schissel, the program will include the toe-tapping marches of John Philip Sousa, a salute to the U.S. Armed Forces, and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. As long as the weather allows, fireworks will follow the concert—an exploding cherry bomb on top of the sweet sundae evening.

With more than 60 years of combined rug-cutting experience, La Danse Cleveland's co-owners, Esther Rehm-Cohen and Tim Brown, have helped untold numbers of students twirl, hop, and belly slide across the dance floor. Certified as a ballroom instructor in 1981, Esther has won national awards for her teaching skills and has had the distinct honor of training couples who have gone on to rank in competitions. She garnered the position of head coach of the Case Western Reserve University ballroom team before fate's two-step led her to a partnership with Tim to run La Danse Cleveland's ample 6,000-square-foot studio. Boasting a background that includes competition in professional arenas as well as work as a dancing judge and a choreographer, co-owner Tim delights in crafting group classes and private lessons that excite and challenge students.

Included on the studio's roster of lessons are styles from Viennese waltz to nightclub two-step, along with sessions tailored specifically to children and to adult fitness goals. In classes and dance parties open to the public, students and social dancers alike rendezvous with Esther, Tim, and their impressive stable of instructors, whose resumés include stints with such world-class companies as the Boston Ballet and Gene Kelly's gutter-cleaning company.

The popular preschool television series Roll Play comes to life in Roll Play Live Animal Party, a vibrant concert tour that engages toddlers and toddler overlords in frolicking exercises of the imagination. Featuring live performances from the effervescent duo Splash'N Boots—winners of the coveted Canadian Children’s Group of The Year award—the interactive smile stampede of Roll Play Live Animal Party allows children to revel in their animalistic instincts without the need to pack tranquilizer darts. Audience members can have their faces painted in the likenesses of adorable critters before the stage is drenched in black lights, revealing ultraviolet animal designs lit up under the expanses of the darkened theatre. As the musical adventure bounds along, kids are encouraged to wail like monkeys, laugh like hyenas, and extrapolate like caffeinated dolphins to the tunes of their favourite Roll Play songs. At the end of the adventure, nippers and snappers take part in the evening's swan song by creating their own boisterous Roll Play song.
