Developed in Austria by sports physiologist Dr. Norbert Egger, HYPOXI technology merges moderate aerobic exercise with innovative medical technology. Futuristic-looking capsules surround the cardio machines, providing light vacuum suction and massage compression to augment the flab-busting process. HYPOXI Studio Ballantyne lines its sunlit studio spaces with HYPOXI's contoured capsules, each designed to address stubborn areas of the body. Though the HYPOXI Trainer S120 and L250 both aim to tone thighs, buttocks, hips, and lower abdomens, the L250 is a lower-intensity option ideal for those with high blood pressure or joint problems. The HYPOXI Vacunaut targets cores as joggers don a pressure suit and set their soles atop a treadmill. Requiring no activity, the HYPOXIDermology consists of a specialized suit with 400 pressure chambers that help diminish cellulite and signs of aging. Each body-shaping session lasts about 30 minutes and is ideal for all ages, fitness levels, and time-traveling schedules.

Pam Ennis is a certified Nutrition Counselor, a Natural Food Chef, and regularly contributes to healthy-living publications such as Livestrong. Oh yea, and she founded her own business, Ylive Juice Bar. Pam takes a very friendly, straightforward philosophy toward helping her clients get healthier. "Progress, not perfection," she says.
Pam and her staff provide one-on-one consulting with every client who walks through the door of her Juice Bar. The goal is for clients to educate themselves on the benefits and possibilities that come from a juice cleanse. Outside of the consultation, Pam even maintains a Cleanse Computer Station, which clients can use to quickly reference different plans and choose the best one for their lifestyle. She also knows that a juice cleanse can be challenging, so she alleviates some of the difficulties by delivering juices to clients at their homes, offices, or super-secret cleanse yurts.

[It's] family run and local [with] organic salads, entrees and a lot of different sides.

Satori means sudden enlightenment, and at Satori Salon that moment comes when stylists spin clients around to face the mirror and a brand new cut and color are revealed. Inside this Washington Avenue salon in the Heights, dark bamboo paneling and wooden Buddhas create a Zen-like feeling. The Satori experience isn’t just about getting a haircut; it’s about creating the perfect hair design in a lush atmosphere. The designers here are all established stylists, and many have master-level color training and experience working on photo shoots and runway shows. A great hairstyle might not lead to sudden enlightenment, but it can definitely be a great surprise during the big reveal.
Holding doctorates in optometry and biochemistry, Dr. Zeinep O. Echetebu dispenses her extensive knowledge of vision to patients at both Gulfgate Vision and Gulf Vision. To assess eye health and help guests find the optimal form of vision correction, her services range from annual exams to visual-field-screening analyses for early detection of diseases. The staff then fits eyes for contact lenses, or leads patients through a stock of designer frames from brands such as Burberry, Juicy Couture, Gucci, and Versace to ensure that clients look stylish when they see themselves clearly in the mirror.
Combining the personal touch of an optometrist-owned practice with the affordable pricing offered at optical superstores, Today's Vision helps keep customers' eyesight crystal clear. Pooling their resources under the Today's Vision aegis, the independent operators that own each location are able to offer personalized care while taking advantage of large-scale discounts on lenses, LASIK eye surgeries, and novelty eye charts that are printed all fuzzy-like. Those looking for fetching frames can browse through extensive selections from such purveyors as Oakley, De Rigo, and Liz Claiborne.
