Though she’s always loved photography, Christa Hovey’s passionate involvement with the art form really took off after the birth of her twin daughters. She chronicled their developing personalities and memorable moments with her camera, eventually deciding that she wanted to offer the same service to other families. And so began Double The Love Photography, where she captures clients’ candid emotions and true characters through varied photo sessions. In addition to shooting family and child portraits with skill, she memorializes special events, such as weddings, engagements, and puppy proms.
At 12 years old, when most little girls fall in love with horses or boy bands, Brittany Moyer fell for the click of a shutter. Her passion didn't wane over the years, and at 17, she began snapping shots professionally. Since then, she has studied at Bowling Green University and immortalized a number of events and milestones. The wunderkind specializes in portraits of seniors, families, babies, engaged couples, and bands. Her shoots are held on-location and capture both candid and posed images. Afterward, Brittany preserves her clients favorite black-and-white or color pictures with products such as high-quality prints and high-resolution images on CD.
Lori Mason can trace her shutterbug streak back to her grandparents, who ran Smith Studios in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. When clients asked for Lester Smith for color portraits, Lester's wife, Annette, would carefully enhance each photo with color by hand. Growing up looking at her grandparents' hand-colored photos, Lori developed an interest in photography that blossomed into a career when she armed herself with a Canon 7D and a photography certification from the University of South Florida. Lori's clients range from expectant mothers to graduating high-school seniors; a particular specialty is newborns as young as 1 week old, whose beaks often haven’t even fallen off yet.
Bombshell Boudoir owner, Carrie and her female staff strive to capture their female subjects’ inner bombshells, encouraging the women decked out in saucy duds to show off their sassy and playful sides while backdropped by one of nineteen custom sets. The all-female Bombshell team coaches clients through every step of boudoir shoots, from choosing an outfit from the studio’s selection and styling hair and makeup to striking alluring poses and arranging faces into sexy snarls. An email viewing session allows clients to choose which edited and retouched shots will adorn Bombshell's selection of custom calendars, albums, and float wraps. They encourage ladies to share the boudoir experience with pals for a cheeky bachelorette party, birthday bash, or church-camp reunion.
A soft focus surrounds the subjects in Love Photography's images, lending warmness to a close-up of a bride wearing her veil and dreaminess to a sultry couple posing together in a boudoir session. During these shoots, Love Photography’s team of photographers makes subjects feel at ease by scheduling complimentary consultations before the shutter even starts snapping. Like William Tell shooting an apple off his son’s head, the staff believes that practice makes perfect, and they’ve been practicing their photographic aim during weddings, family portrait sessions, and kids’ photo shoots since the studio opened in 1970.
