After experiencing a very difficult time in her life, mother and entrepreneur Lauri Meizler was in search of a healthy start. She went down many paths to recover, but the results were less than optimal: instead of feeling energized, she found herself lethargic and underweight. It wasn’t until discovering cleansing and Ayurveda, one of the world's oldest medical systems, that life began to change. Soon thereafter, she adapted the teachings of the combination, and has since felt energetic, balanced, and in control of her life once again.
Lauri received certifications as a health coach in raw foods and Ayurveda and pairs the ancient Indian tradition’s holistic-wellness practices with modern nutrition training to help others optimize their health and well-being through eating a predominantly plant-rich diet. Her company, Joos, funnels these nutritious ingredients into bottles to help on-the-go people to build healthy, sustainable eating habits.
In flavors such as green lemonade, citrus refresh, and antioxidant blast, these wholesome potables teem with ingredients such as fresh-pressed, unpasteurized apples, ginger, and bok choy. Each bottle contains 10–14 types of garden-grown goodness, which amount to two times the daily requirement of fruits, veggies, and scarecrow smiles. The juices can fortify meals with vitamins and minerals or serve as the meals themselves during cleanses, which last 5–21 days. Cleanse participants can also drink in the support of a certified health coach/cleanse expert.

Geared towards youthful athletes looking to stay in top form during the off-season, The FieldHouse offers guests a sprawling facility of courts, fields, and gymnasia for all types of sports. Indoor turf allows sluggers to hone their swings and quarterbacks to tighten their spirals, while gleaming hardwood courts echo with the shouts of basketball or volleyball players. Performance sessions focus on more abstract improvement, toning key muscle groups and fine-tuning players' sense of how many times they can give their opponents red cards before being ejected. Adults looking to stay in shape can take advantage of the center's group classes, burning off pounds in exercises inspired by the facility's sports training.
Owner of CrossFit Union Scott McAuliffe and head trainer Brendan know that variety is the key to a successful fitness regimen. That's why they offer all sorts of workout options, from punishing boot camps to yin yoga classes. Their specialty, however, will always be CrossFit's workout of the day. Alongside a team of similarly certified trainers, Brendan leads students through a set of functional, intense exercises. These exercises vary constantly but may include everything from squats and pull-ups to box jumps and four-door sedan throws. Given the workouts' adaptable nature—exercisers progress with more intensity, not more weight—they can be tailored to any fitness level.
A team of experienced athletes and certified strength-and-conditioning specialists work to help athletes and regular exercisers reach a higher level of fitness. Inside a hybrid training facility with a clean locker room and a smoothie bar, instructors lead metabolic conditioning workouts, spinning classes, and mobility and recovery sessions. Training focuses on increasing speed, agility, and coordination while also teaching stabilization techniques that help prevent injuries.
