Overseen by master stylist and owner LeAnn Grgurich, Ooh La La Beauty Boutique welcomes patrons for a variety of hair services. After a shampoo, guests settle into a stylist's chair for a haircut, corrective color, or multidimensional highlights. The beauty experts also specialize in formaldehyde-free smoothing serums to eliminate frizz and offer a variety of wigs including options from Raquel Welch or Gabor Wig collection, or an array of extension types. Ooh La La Beauty Boutique further beautifies clients with the It Works! firming body wrap.
There are many spas whose goal is to have the customer in and out of the door as soon as possible. They’ll give you the basic service you’ve paid for, nothing more. But at The Spa, it’s the little extras that ensure guests feel completely pampered and relaxed.
Each one of its body wraps, whether a detoxifying seaweed wrap or milk-and-honey exfoliating wrap, begins with a complimentary dry-brush exfoliation. The wraps include warm, aromatic towel compresses and face and scalp massages, and they finish with a refreshing shower and creamy lotion. During massages, including Hawaiian lomilomi and prenatal, clients swaddled in as many blankets as they’d like zone out in a private room piping in soft music. The Four Hands of Heaven massage even uses four hands, usually attached to two separate therapists, but occasionally just the one, to deeply relax those who have a hard time letting go during a regular massage.
Claudia's aesthetician training began miles away from Charleston in her native country of Brazil, where she studied Health Education at Anhembi University and worked at spas throughout S?o Paulo. She brings her firsthand expertise in Brazilian waxing and beauty treatments to each of her five spas, administering a variety of waxing services along with various body treatments, facials, endermologie treatments, and massages. She and her fellow aestheticians also offer threading and sugaring treatments that remove hair without relying on wax. Her passions have driven her to open a network of spas located in North Charleston, James Island, Mt. Pleasant, Summerville, and Columbia.
Inside her spotless salon, Paulette McCrann and a team of stylists help guests to look their best with haircuts, color treatments, and mani-pedis. Drawing on years of experience as a stylist, McCrann has assembled a team of equally expert nail and hair virtuosos, including a nail technician who has worked in the industry for many years.
Nolas Salon boasts seasoned stylists who sculpt and maintain head hedges with an array of salon services. Coif curation begins with a thorough sudsing and scalp massage before shear-wielding artists trim, sculpt, and blow-dry hairscapes. A complimentary glass of wine can enhance the haircut experience, just as a beer improves the lawn-mowing experience.
Twenty years ago, Laurie Premo opened Premo's Barber • Spa as a modest, one-chair barbershop adjoining her home in New York State. Her business has since traveled south and expanded to include a private treatment room with a full menu of massage and spa services.
Antique hair dryers now hang over plush couches in the spa’s lobby, giving first-time visitors a hint of Laurie’s eclectic tastes. If that weren’t enough, an antique wooden workstation embedded with a granite sink completes the charm as Laurie grasps shears and trims locks or beards. Across the salon, none other than Laurie's daughter, Justine—a licensed massage therapist with practice in Eastern and Western modalities—eradicates muscle knots and soothes necks sore from stretching for fruit on out-of-reach trees.
