PGA teaching professional Robbie Camacho refines golf skills with corrective advice culled from more than 20 years of experience in the golf industry. After graduating from the San Diego Golf Academy and the PGA of America's Professional Golf Management Program, Robbie has appeared on multiple radio shows to offer a slice of his golf wisdom and weigh in on the tragic extinction of the mashie niblick.
Robbie has taken his talents to Dobson Ranch Golf Course, where a lighted driving range with grass tees, practice putting greens, and a short game area with a practice bunker let him cover any aspect of the game in lessons. Robbie's understanding of proper stance, body alignment, glove bedazzlement, ball position, and balance cultivates more dependable swings for players of all abilities.
The nine-hole executive course's open fairways and flat terrain present a laid-back layout for golfers to build confidence and practice short-game skills. The course does away with many of the treacherous hazards found at larger courses, such as deep bunkers, long shots over water, or enticing offers for island green timeshares. To aid in the development of consistent golf skills, PGA professional instructors oversee the golf center's facilities, ready to enlighten new golfers on anything from proper etiquette to trick shots, which students can then ingrain into muscle memory at the driving range.
A PGA Tour instructor and former tour player, Rohan Teasdale enhances players’ power and control by making each golf swing biomechanically sound. He operates his training school, G'Day Golf, at McCormick Ranch Golf Club, where he works with players of all skill levels to lower scores through the use of video swing analysis and a strict diet of sautéed golf balls. In addition to adjusting swing patterns to improve efficiency, Rohan also tweaks other facets of the game to produce well-rounded players. More than just a coach and instructor, Rohan acts as a full support system and friend to each student as they strive to reach their goals.
Since 1998, golfers have toted their clubs to the emerald, mountain-draped grounds of Talking Stick Golf Club to seek out the swing-honing wisdom of golf instructor, Chad Rogers. Chad cultivated his skills during a competitive career that included playing for Scottsdale Community College's golf team and contending in two US Amateurs and two PGA Tour Qualifying Tournaments. Certifications from Troon Golf Academy and ESPN Golf Schools illuminate Chad's experience, and his coaching insights have been showcased in Golf Tips magazine, for whom he contributes game-grooming advice and fictional fantasies about turning the solar system into a 9-hole executive course. Chad's client list ranges from beginners to fellow professionals, all of whom benefit from a teaching philosophy that emphasizes fundamentals and calls upon techniques learned during Chad's time working with renowned golf instructors Hank Haney and Tim Mahoney.
Named to the PGA President's Council on Growing the Game in 2006 for his efforts with player-development programs, teaching professional Jason Magee aims to make the sport of golf more enjoyable through private and on-course lessons. Within his instructional domain at local Phoenix golf courses, he helps players of all skill levels to hone their entire games, from drives off the tee to putting on the green. Jason also helps players with the mental aspects of the game through instructional rounds, where he shares course-management strategies and debunks the myth that placing magnets in each hole the night before will facilitate holes in one.
At Scottsdale Golf Place, X-Golf simulators immerse golfers in a realistic replication of world-famous courses using accurate video analysis, high-definition graphics, and a 5.1 channel sound system. Golfers can play a round at Pebble Beach, St. Andrews, and Spyglass without having to put up with the exorbitant expense and secret handshakes needed to enter the courses. The simulator floor tilts to create uphill, downhill, and side-hill lies to reflect the player’s ball location on the course, and two video cameras play back swings for later review. With the available video playback, the simulator doubles as a teaching mechanism for Scottsdale Golf Place’s class-A PGA instructors, who use it to review a swing’s club path, ball-launch angle, and follow-through pirouettes.
