For the past 28 years, Kelly Wheeler has wrangled feisty families into character-capturing images, using his studio's expansive outdoor area and well-appointed interior as a backdrop. Kelly begins with a prephoto consultation to learn about his customers’ lifestyles and desires so that photos can represent interests such as playing outdoors, spending time together, or competitive smiling. Photographees then arrange a time and location for their family photo shoot, holding pretty poses at Kelly's studio or allowing Photoz by Kelly to travel within the Reno-Tahoe area to shoot on-location or at the family home (a $150 value).
JLM Creative Photography owner and natural-light bender Christie Mumm wrangles frame-worthy faces into perfect form during each one-hour photo shoot. Accommodating up to six subjects per session, Christie can expertly snap a family portrait, a candid shot between friends, or a holiday-card-worthy snap of the office volleyball team. Whether visiting Christie in her natural-light-filled studio or striking a pose in the great outdoors, still-lifers will benefit from her experience in lifestyle portraiture, which places an emphasis on capturing each subject's authentic emotions and je ne sais quio––which is French for third ear.
Since receiving her first camera at the age of 7, Kristi Bowman has been drawn to glamour photography. She started out by staging fashion shoots for her Barbie dolls. Nowadays, the professional photographer works on making real women feel beautiful at Intimate Photography by Kristi. During boudoir photo shoots, clients of all shapes and sizes tap into their sultry sides using a range of poses, costumes, and Danielle Steele–inspired thought bubbles. Clients can bring their own clothing items from home to create different looks, including halter tops and garter belts that can channel vintage pinup style, and the studio is stocked with lingerie to help clients channel a brand-new kind of sultry. Kristi uses camera angles and Photoshop tools to make each client look her best. The studio team then memorializes the shoot in high-resolution CD images, large prints, and calendars.

Brooke Morgan Westlake made her foray into photography during high school, when she diligently studied the craft by taking as many classes as her schedule could handle. After graduation, she spent most of her time on the other side of the camera, learning how to strike the ideal pose for any situation as a model and beauty-pageant contestant.
Today, she draws on 18 years of experience to capture memories with current technology and trends, adding each new photographic specimen to her portfolio. She illumines boudoir, engagement, and wedding photos by ramping up the exposure and color saturation, which lends Pre-Raphaelite detail and enchantment to each image. For portraits, she employs the same technique but also dabbles in the other extreme, swapping vibrant colors for desaturated tones that seem to look back through the mists of time. Brooke also accents black-and-white photos with pops of color and subdues child portraits with a pastel, daydream-infused palette.
Courtney Dyer Photography's shutterbugs are multitalented: they can capture memories at weddings, snap flattering senior portraits, or preserve an infant's precious facial expressions for posterity. After photo shoots, clients can choose the form their photos will take; they can be arranged in albums, printed onto invitation cards, or transferred onto artistic wrapped canvases.
