Dancers aged 3 to adult show off tricky toes in jazz sessions, get limber during tumbling, or grow ever more graceful with lyrical dance. An onsite supply store appends each location, ready to outfit students with dance duds or a spare sense of rhythm. Danceworks' professional dancers and trained instructors specialize in teen/adult ballet, as well as jazz and lyrical.
Designed by legendary golfer and course architect Arnold Palmer, the Legend Course's lush greens and fairways beautifully interlace with the surrounding desert to create an idyllic golfing experience set in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Called "Reno's Best Kept Secret" by LasVegasGolf.com, the scenic landscape provides panoramic views and challenging course play for all skill levels. Golfers will face a healthy balance of par 3s, 4s, and 5s that present accuracy-testing obstacles such as sandy bunkers, tranquil water hazards, thick desert brush, avian hecklers, and rolling terrain.
European Fitness Center first opened it's doors in the 1960s, and at 7,500 square feet, was one of the first and most advanced fitness clubs of its kind in the area. Since then, it has grown to 25,000 square feet and continues to offer cutting-edge equipment and amenities to its members. That includes
a cardio theater area with TV-equipped treadmills and ellipticals, as well as ample free weights and weight machines designed to tone and strengthen specific muscles, such as the biceps or eyelids. European Fitness Center even features a studio space with spring-loaded flooring, which helps minimize joint strain as instructors lead aerobics, cardio kickboxing, and yoga classes throughout the week.
The fitness center's amenities also include an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, and sauna for visitors looking to unwind after a workout. In the salon area, staff members are on-hand to provide hair and nail treatments or help guests adopt a sun-kissed complexion in one of
six available tanning beds. And, since working out can work up an appetite, an onsite restaurant indulges members with a healthful assortment of snacks and smoothies for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Arthur Murray has been a leading name in franchise dance since 1912, when the entrepreneur began selling mail-order dance lessons. Expanding his reach, he enlisted teachers to spread his signature dance lessons on first-class steamships and skyrocketed to fame in the '30s after introducing the public to such dances as the Lambeth Walk and The Big Apple. By the 1950s, Arthur and his wife, Kathryn, were hosting their own highly popular TV show on ABC, The Arthur Murray Dance Party, which ran for 12 years. Today, Arthur Murray's team prepares students for rug cutting at special events and weekend nightclub jaunts. Throughout lessons, instructors teach the foundations of dance from a long list of styles that range from Latin to country-western, helping students to learn basic step patterns, timing, and the ability to lead or follow.
