The future of Oyster Bay is in good hands with The WaterFront Center, a nonprofit U.S. Sailing–accredited facility that teaches both youths and adults to conserve their local environment. In addition to demonstrating the importance of environmental responsibility, the center also instills sailing skills in people of all ages, from their Lil’ Luffers class for third and fourth graders to US Sailing certification for those ready to take the boat out on their own. For corporate groups, they teach a different kind of lesson out on the water with outings designed to teach team development or effective communication. The WaterFront Center also rents sailboats and kayaks to veteran boaters or trustworthy gusts of wind.
Sian Rose grew up in Sheffield, Jamaica, watching her father prepare traditional Caribbean dishes from her spot on the kitchen counter. Today, chef Sian captains her own kitchen, folding Caribbean-imported seasonings, herbs, and spices into a variety of authentic breads, cakes, and specialties—from fish cooked in creamy coconut milk to spicy jerk pork. The skilled chef also extends her culinary expertise to custom catering and personal-chef services.

What was the inspiration for starting this business?
Many other businesses offer a small selection and few choices when it comes to protection or beautification of devices that we carry with us 24 hours a day. I wanted a store that specializes in unique products, found all under one roof. A store that isn't carrier-focused but customer-focused.
What is the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a customer?
When we turned a customer's white iPhone into a GOLD iPhone. A combination of two matching items from our store totally transformed the phone. The customer was ecstatic and proclaimed that she would tell everyone she knew about us.
What?s your favorite part about your job?
Putting smiles on faces. Customers are very happy when they find the right case for their phone. Also repairing a phone back to brand new condition.
