"All students are equally deserving of opportunities for educational advancement." This is the belief that propels The Ducere Group forward in its work. Made up of educators, families, and community members, the non-profit organization dedicates itself to creating healthier communities through programs including a charter school and a day camp. The Village Academy focuses on high academic standards, creativity, and character development for both traditional and non-traditional learners, while the day camp arms youngsters with citizenship skills such as recycling, first aid training, and fighting for the rights of voteless squirrels.

Whether they are coaching athletes or leading boot-camp classes, the trainers at The Xtreme 18 reach beyond verbal motivation to inspire their students with individual attention, specialized training, and a community support system. Inside their gym, a trove of advanced fitness equipment challenges muscles to rethink monotonous routines. The ThunderBell—a modified dumbbell with handles on either end—can act as a kettlebell, barbell, or scepter for summoning Thor's strength during weightlifting workouts. Staff members might also attach resistance bands to various body parts for agility and plyometric drills, limbering and strengthening physiques for a boost in sports performance.
Though its gear strikes many as high-tech, The Xtreme 18's setting is accessible and family focused. Classes grouped by age welcome students as young as 6 to tackle bodyweight exercises and endurance trials, pushing them toward a lifetime of healthy habits and fitness.
At 52,000 square feet, and with a capacity of 1,200 people, Pacific Sports and Events Center has more than enough room for your activities. Opened in March 2012, the massive facility houses a pair of indoor soccer fields, where youth- and adult-league games, practices, and training sessions unfold throughout the year. The fields are even versatile enough to be used for other sports, including lacrosse, football, and baseball.
Sports aside, the center also invites guests to utilize its space for other activities, such as birthday parties. Plus, one Friday per month is reserved as Kids' Night Out. On that night, children aged 6–14 can gather at the center with friends while parents use the free time to go to dinner or jump on their bed, even though the house is not a gym.
Being fit is a necessity for Ian Weinberg, as he regularly runs marathons and climbs mountains. At Ian Fitness, he and his fellow certified personal trainers share their passion for fitness during indoor boot camp workouts. They spice things up each day by introducing new exercises that range from body weight exercises to kettlebell lifts. To help students make the most of their efforts, they also offer nutritional counseling to answer food-and-exercise-related questions such as “What should I eat to augment my workout?” and “How do I whittle a dumbbell into a fork?”
