Normally, you wouldn't expect to cross paths with giant glowing pandas, dragons, and other mythical creatures at the zoo. But from now through May 31, that's exactly what visitors at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo will find. The luminescent creatures are all part of the Zoominations festival, which celebrates the ancient Chinese art of lantern sculpture.
Spread across 26 acres, Zoominations features 30 unique and beautiful scenes inspired by Chinese folklore, inviting guests on a cultural journey that has toured London, Toronto, and Beijing. Millions of LED lights and lanterns illuminate the festival grounds, showcasing the ingenuity of skilled artists from the Sichuan Province in China. Zoominations also boasts an Asian market, nightly performances, and dining experiences on select nights. For more information about what to expect, visit the Zoominations Facebook page.
The state of Florida was once entirely underwater—and Florida Eco-Adventures’ tours explore the parts that still are. Founders Mac and Suzanne McCormick lead adventurers through waters such as Kings Bay that, thanks to its 72-degree waters, is a wintertime refuge for West Indian Manatees. The Silver River, meanwhile, hosts a more eclectic array of wildlife, ranging from gators—although they’re too shy and skittish for regular sightings—to sunfish and rhesus monkeys.

For the yoga classes, Jai Dee isn't interested in classifying people as beginner or advanced, but instead welcomes any interested parties to all sessions. True beginners won't have to feel like they don't know what they're getting themselves into, though: their schedule includes in-depth descriptions of all the classes, each of which is also rated by sweat level. The classes range from the gentler Relax and Revive to the more intense hold-focused Strength and Balance, with varying levels of intensity in between. For an added element of fun, Jai Dee also hosts specialty classes that include Zodiac Yoga, which is inspired by the week's astrological trends. The sessions might focus on combating stress one week and toning bods to meet a mysterious, attractive stranger the next.
