No one goes to CrossFit Reason
to hop on a treadmill. And you won?t see any weight machines here, either. Instead, a trip to the 3,000-square-foot gym gets you a custom workout closely monitored by a certified CrossFit coach. These workouts change every day and include functional fitness exercises, from Olympic-style weightlifting that prepares you for lifting heavy objects to rope climbing, which prepares you for climbing a rope. The small group class size allows coaches to customize each workout so participants at any level feel challenged while swinging Kettlebells or jumping onto plyometric boxes. For even more personalized workouts, the coaches work with members one-on-one during personal training sessions.
There's no better way to drink up some sun, get some exercise, and prepare for the impending zombie apocalypse than by racing for the finish in the Zombie Blood Run. The (fake) blood-strewn course is littered with obstacles that runners must climb over, swim through, and duck behind to avoid the outstretched claws of the undead. Those zombies will attempt to grab one of the three flags hanging around each participant's waist, but to be declared a survivor, racers must still have at least one of their flags on as they cross the finish line. Regardless of performance, everyone gets a goodie bag at race's end, except for zombies who'd probably just tear it to pieces anyway.
The certified instructors at Pilates Sculpt Studio forge strong muscles and mind-body connections through the system of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates. Pilates, the son of two gymnasts, devoted his lifetime to studying fitness. He eventually developed his signature Pilates method as a way to help heal old injuries and correct poor postures. His exercises and stretches, using the body as resistance, are especially useful for people who sit at their desks all day or sleep on lava rocks at night.
