Fotogenik Photography began in 1999 as Curran Photography, the project of owner Mike Curran. While working as the official track photographer at Fairgrounds Speedway, Mike met his wife, Rebecca—also a professional photographer—and today the two snap photos in tandem, both in their shop and on location. The duo handles family photos, headshots, and business photos as well as on-location shoots for sports games, proms, graduations, and weddings. They also share their expertise via classes on Photoshop, DSLR cameras, and natural-light portrait photography, which is far less spooky than campfire-flashlight portraits.
Kiralisa Photography produces rich-hued proof of life’s more memorable moments, offering families high-quality portraiture and precisely personalized prints. Photographer Lisa Thomas uses her camera to point, shoot, and extract an impressive level of comfort from her subjects, many of who are between the ages of zero and six and, like all young people, have a natural distrust of artificial lighting that dates back to early human conflicts with neon-horned dinosaurs. Today’s deal gets you a five-person shoot at a local lush landscape.
On Betsy Butler's website she writes, "[Photography] takes what we see with the naked eye and transforms it into something extraordinary, or something thought-provoking." She shares the extraordinary and thought-provoking images she catches when she photographs other people through portrait sessions with families, children, and individuals. She provides previews of proofs from each session, as well as DVDs and prints of favorite images. She also shoots weddings, helping couples create a final album that's as much a work of art and heirloom as it is a potential meal for the town monster.
Midnight Magic Studios’ boudoir shoots aim to make women of all shapes and sizes feel glamorous, whether they’re stretched out on a posh bed or reclining on the sleek leather seats of a limousine. Photographer Leeann, who helms the studio with her husband, Don, specializes in making gals feel comfortable as they channel their inner sultry diva. With her relaxed demeanor and keen eye for capturing emotion, she elicits candid-looking poses and expressions rather than smiles held in place by duct tape. Leeann and Don collaborate with clients on each shoot to capture their preferred tone—from flirty sweetheart to smoldering temptress—whether it is a solo session, bridal-boudoir shoot, a Pin-Up Party for a group of friends, or a for-his-eyes-only gift for a spouse.
Khroma Key Media allows its subjects to be photographed almost anywhere without leaving the comfort of the studio. By using chromakey technology, including a green screen, Khroma Key Media lets subjects seemingly appear in any exciting locale they choose, from a jungle to a Hollywood scene to the surface of the moon. This technology also enables their staff to create special packages for their clients, such as kid-created storybooks, cereal boxes, or movie posters.
Armed with an army of innovative and certified shutterbugs, Olan Mills Portrait Studio provides families with high-quality portraits, continuing a mission that was established more than 75 years ago by founder Olan Mills Sr. Skilled in the art of capturing infants, children, families, and bunny-ears-giving ghost orbs on film, Olan Mills’s experienced smile snappers will take a series of poses amid a variety of backgrounds and lighting options. The studio is equipped with a selection of props—including numbers for birthdays, toys, and boxes—and patrons may bring their own photo-enlivening items from home. The resulting photos find their way to prints in natural color, black and white, or sepia tones; they can also be immortalized in the studio's signature Old Masters style, a canvas brushed with highlights to recreate look of an oil painting. Like the gentlemanly mariners of ages past with their full schedule of sea-battles, the photographers welcome appointments, but do not require them.
