The Designed Body is a Pilates studio specializing in small group mat and equipment classes such as group reformer and chair. We recently launched the TRX Suspension Training program. We also offer personal training.

Cathy Moses Baldasserini studied dance and therapy and received full scholarships to New York dance conservatories such as Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey. She began practicing Pilates as a way to hone and refine her body, the instrument of her self-expression. Now, she teaches it full time at her fitness-dedicated studio, Pilates for Life.

Joined by nine other teachers, Cathy reforms students' bodies with both basic and machine-assisted Pilates, yoga, kettlebells, and tai chi classes. She uses Pilates for its renowned ability to strengthen the site of injuries or chronic pain and to provide conditioning for weak joints, problem backs, and those who have osteoporosis. She also implements devices such as reformers—a system of pulleys and sliding platforms that enhance Pilates's classic horizontal exercises—and towers, which incorporate the natural resistance of gravity into Pilates movements.

MaxBowl’s 32-lane wooden superhighway entertains bowlers with splits and spares during 10-pin tussles. Cosmic bowl on Fridays and Saturdays paints the alley with black lights, scattered multi-LED lighting, and the flickering of music videos on projection screens until 2 a.m. MaxBowl East plays country music on Friday nights, causing balls to soar down lanes with the rhythm of an accredited square dancer. Although refreshments are not included in the value of this Groupon, both bowling alleys offer eats and drinks at the MaxBowl Bar & Grill. In 2007, the North Texas Event Center underwent a renovation that transformed a former call center into four fairytale ballrooms and a museum for classic cars. The gleaming Gull Wings, Alpha Romeos, and M6s catalyzed the project, as their owners sought a way to share their collections with the public. This desire dovetailed with the designs of city officials, who wanted to create an enduring cultural institution in Richardson and a way to see the cars without masquerading as stop signs. In order to realize this dream and reverse signs of aging in the 1980 building, contractors installed gleaming parquet floors valued at $2 million, and built out rooms with vaulted ceilings, broad stages, or bars. A crew of event planners oversees the chambers, which range from 1,883 to 14,000 square feet, and contain surprises such as 360 degrees of white drapes and a marble gazebo.
